About my third time here. Had several items:*Kikko liver. Interesting dish. Chicken livers and mushrooms baked in a sweet sauce. Tasty but too sweet.*Soft shell crab appetizer. Not greasy. Generous portion. Nothing special.*Shrimp kushiyaki skewers. Two per skewer, two skewers. Swimming in yakitori sauce. Could taste the grill, but overcooked.*Chicken yakitori. Same as shrimp. Cooked well, still too much sauce.*Cucumber roll. Not bad.*Chicken domburi. Very large portion with tempura veggies. Sauce on the side allowed for control. Good. Came with soup and salad.Service was great, they were busy.
Hands down the most authentic Japanese restaurant in town. Atmosphere is calm and relaxing. Menu is comprehensive. I've never been disappointed with any selection. Sushi rolls are good sized 8-10 pieces. Wait staff are always polite and helpful.
Pretty good. expansive menu. good service. clean. would've preferred glass pelligrino to plastic. would've liked some sauce with my karaage. chicken could've been crisper. did not taste any special powder. I like the Salmon onigiri, they have a really cool menu. I look forward to going back.
Poor service, food prep took 40 min, while they were moderately busy and there were 4+ people behind the sushi counter area.That plate on the bottom right of the photo was under my elbow the whole lunch, even though we had empty plates that could have been taken away by staff, which made it very uncomfortable for me.The steak shreds on top of the sushi were cold and blend, while the sushi itself was warm.
Premium Chirashi bowl is totally worth it!
Very tasty food, friendly staff, and good prices.
This is a great local restaurant. I love the freshness of their sashimi. We go about 1-2 times a months and the waitresses are great. They are super friendly with reasonable price for Japanese food. I highly recommend it;
The most extensive authentic Japanese menu items in the bay area. The tastes of them are excellent as well. Also many Japanese booths in there are rare to have in this time.
Our waitress was attentive and welcoming which is the reason for the higher rating. We assumed and were hopeful that the food would be good based on the Google rating but unfortunately the food we received was not flavored well. I ordered the poke lunch special that was drenched with a sauce that soaked the lettuce and rice to the point that it was the only flavor I could taste. Also the quality of the fish was sadly below average. The presentation was pretty though. Hopefully the chef(s) adjust this dish.
Incredibly delicious and cost effective Japanese cuisine. Given the quality and value of the food and service, I'm not surprised by how long this institution has been serving its Bay Area residents. Absolurely worth a visit!
