Went to Umberto Trattoria to celebrate a girlfriend's birthday! The service was spot on from entry to exit. The wait staff is super attentive. The food mega ? yum, flavorful, and great portions. I had a whole serving to take home! Ask for Rebekah -- she keeps the staff on their toes.
Found my new favorite Italian spot in Culver City! Came in to try their Mushroom and Truffle pizza and it was delicious! The truffle oil was not too overpowering on the pizza which was great! If you are a truffle lover, look no further. My friend had the Spinach Ravioli which was today’s special and it was amazing as well. I will definitely be coming back!

Stopped in for lunch on a recent visit to LA and we weren't disappointed! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles. The place is noisy but we were lucky to get a quiet corner table which wasn't too bad. Rachel, our waiter, was amazing! She was attentive and made sure our order was straight forward including complimentary ice when we needed it. The manager, Erwan, and stopped by our table and made us feel welcome. In general, a good impression. We will definitely return. The Bolognese tagliatelle was great too!
Good happy hour, and I love the Pistachio Tartufo
Undiscovered neighborhood gem! Don’t let the unassuming location between the highway and sepulveda turn you off, stepping inside you feel like you’re in a whole different place. The food was surpassed only by the service! Between the lasagna, the margarita pizza, and the free garlic tapenade bread we walked away full and happy with plenty of leftovers.
I love the food, since its flavor is unique, the service is very good, very punctual and the place is very clean and comfortable.
I finally decided to stop by Umberto Trattoria and give them a try. Although the restaurant can be hard to miss (if you aren't familiar with the area), it's definitely worth going in for a meal! The first thing I noticed was how clean the restaurant was (which is a huge plus during these times we are living in). There was a hand sanitizer station next to the entrance and I noticed that the busser would immediately sanitize the tables and chairs after a table would leave. The bathroom was also immaculately clean which is hard to find nowadays. On to the food. I started off with the fried calamari and it was amazing. It was crisp in all the right ways and the marinara sauce was perfect for dipping. It was definitely one of the better calamari I've had when eating out. I then ordered their Pasta Bolognese with a glass of their Buttonwood Cabernet Franc. I had no idea that vegan wines were a thing, and I was not disappointed! The wine was fruit forward and full bodied. Needless to say that I ordered a second glass and can't wait to return to the restaurant for more! The pasta was rigatoni (cooked al dente) in a bolognese meat sauce. Wow, the flavors were incredible! I savored every bite and am looking forward to trying their other dishes! I decided to take a slice of the Amaretto cake to go (as I was stuffed). The Amaretto cake was really yummy! The almond liquer really came through in every bite. Thanks Umberto's for a great meal!
Wonderful meal. Fresh pasta, seafood and salad. Fantastic wine and drinks menu. Excellent service. Authentic Italian food with an excellent menu. Highly recommended!!!!!
I’ve been looking for a restaurant that has both amazing fresh food, great service, and a cozy atmosphere. I found that here! When we first came in we were greeted by a friendly bar tender who was also our waiter. He started telling us how their cocktails are all-natural and how he makes all of the syrups. This really intrigued us. I had the hibiscus mule and it was incredible. You have to order it! The flavors of the ginger, lemon, and hibiscus were tied in beautifully with the vodka. My friend ordered a mango margarita and she loved it. Needless to say we ordered another round! I typically don’t go for seafood but our waiter highly recommended their grilled fish. I was so glad I ordered it. I had never had branzino before and this grilled white fish with sautéed veggies really hit the spot! My friend ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and she loved it. The portions are big and comparable with their prices. For dessert I ordered the pistachio tartufo (my new favorite!). It’s pistachio ice cream with a marzipan center covered in pistachio nuts. My friend had the mixed berry cake which was also incredible. We finished our meal with a round of after dinner drinks. We both had a White Russian which was amazing. The coffee, chocolate liqueur, and vodka topped with whipped cream paired beautifully with dessert. We are looking forward to going back next month with more friends for dinner and live music.
