Fresh oysters are fresh, we like the Kumamoto the most. Some places overcook or over seasoning the baked oyster but they did a great job for four different flavors. Highly recommended to try their baked oysters.
Absolutely amazing cannot recommended this place more! It is in a market with other restaurants. However, the experience was still amazing. The baked oysters were the best I have had in my life and I have been to many cities and enjoyed oysters. I suggest you sample all the different preparations but my favorite were the habanero baked oysters. My friend got clams and they were super flavorful.
Located inside Citizens Market in Culver City. So glad i found this gem to satisfy my oyster cravings. They have a nice variety of raw and baked oysters. Make sure to try the leek and parmesan baked oysters or the creole one. I like to ask for a few lemon wedges just to perfectly cut through some of the seasoning and give it more of a tang. But you really cant go wrong with any of the menu items. They also have a nice variety of beer and wine to pair with everything!
Oysters with leeks were great, scallop ceviche was delicious
First and foremost the guy at the register was arrogant. He rushed me to provide my order, acted impatient and told me, my order would b complete once I tapped on the tip increment. He took my number, ( even after I explained I’d wait bc my table on the rooftop,) that he’d text me when the food was ready. I understood so I walked around. After 20 minutes, I came back to the counter. He repeatedly reminded me he’d text me as if he did not want me standing around. (Yes. The bar was empty!) A few minutes later, I guess after he noticed I wasn’t leaving, he said my oysters were ready but the anchovies toast needed more time. Apparently the oysters were sitting on the counter already cooked and handed them to me which I found odd. Poor coordination. Five-ish minutes later he handed me the toast. When I asked for a second fork he seemed annoyed and handed it off to me w no eye contact. The OYSTERS, which I ordered baked were awful. The sauces HABANERO BUTTER and the LEEK & PARMESAN we’re cold. The Habanero was so hot to the taste they were barely edible. The Parmesan were so thick and creamy it basically tasted like sour cream. The anchovy toast was even worse! Three ragged cut pieces of hard toast with a giant glob of white cream and one small piece of anchovy tucked beneath the glob of cream. It was my first time there. I did not know what any of their items looked like or what to expect. I was stunned after tasting all three as they were not good.I rarely write a negative review but I was annoyed. Annoyed at how I had been treated and annoyed the food was so disappointing especially bc I looked so forward to really enjoying my experience there…I will not be returning.
Oysters were great. $30 for a dozen, $16 for a half. Wife and I enjoyed the Prince Edward Island ones the most, they were the weekly special. My only gripe is they don't offer regular mignonette sauce. Theirs has cucumber for some reason.Fun atmosphere at Citizen Public House to enjoy the oysters in. Service was fast and friendly too. There were some other people here doing a wine-paired tasting. Looked fun.
Please do yourself a favor and go here if your an oyster lover! Talk about a great selection of oyster. The workers there are also incredibly friendly, definitely will be coming back for another round!
My go to place to get to shuck at home. Their oysters are fresh, tasty, and the price is right.
Excellent!
The owner and staff were all very friendly and descriptive of the oyster options. The baked oysters were my favorite (the Habanero one especially), but the raw were also very good.
