Brought a group of 9 to dinner. Servers were fine, orders came out correctly. That’s where things became very disappointing. Those with brisket suffered through very dry meet as did all who ate any type of rib. For cooking and smoking as long as they claimed that they do the ribs were very tough and dry and certainly not worth the money. Those who ordered tap beer complained that all flavors of it tasted old and had to be replaced by a bottled Dos Exxis. Trout was served in the first comment from my guest was this looks nothing like the picture in the menu. They’re biscuits which are typically really nicely baked we’re also very dry and not warm in many were left an eaten because of it. I spent $478 on a meal I had to apologize for as this was a work related dinner and I had visitors from overseas. No one wanted to stay for dessert
Wanted to surprise my wife today and take her to Lucille's for a brisket sandwich. Was looking forward to a great meal but it turned out to be a major mistake. $34 plus tax for two brisket sandwiches with fries that wasn't even worth $10. The brisket was so over done it tasted like burnt leather. It took a lot of work just to finish it. Such a major disappointment. The lady manager was extremely understanding and didn't charge us for the two sodas. She took off $7.98. Now that was nice of her.
Very disappointing - did a restaurant search and saw this. Website menu promised fantastic smoke house BBQ so we were hooked. Upon arrival drinks and biscuits were great however from there on it went downhill. Diner one no seasonal vegetables and diner two had his main course arrive stone cold. When it did arrive it wasn't particularly good or hot. Diner ones platter was also cold by this point and requested a replacement....which took an age! Eventually saw manager who was very apologetic and went out if his way
I ordered a 3meat dinner with Mac and cheese and garlic mashed potatoes. The chicken was good, pulled pork was dry and the rib tips seemed under cooked. Only bbq taste was in the sauce.
Loved their pork rib tips, crispy salmon bites quite fun, but just little too salty.
I’ve been here a couple of occasions and honestly their food isn’t up to par. My first visit was pleasant along with the drinks at the time served actually wasn’t watered down. Unfortunately the burger and ribs I ordered weren’t cooked thoroughly. I left a friendly tip and that was it. Service the first time around was excellent quality. A few months pass by and I chose to visit here one more for fun with a couple girl friends. When greeted I was assisted by the waitress who was kind and then another woman started waiting on our group. Their is no problem we adjust quickly so no big deal. I ordered a drink and something light. My friends ordered next. Once the waitress brings our drinks we notice how little to no alcohol was in our drinks. If anyone wants a drink wait until happy hour and go for the beers or shots. While waiting for our order, we noticed the cook scratching himself then resumed cooking, not only that but I personally witnessed a cook drop food and put it back on the plate. I would’ve canceled my order but my food was already at the table. The food was worse the second time around food was room temperature and that’s unsanitary. The other chefs were laughing and turning a work environment into a childish playhouse. Which was beyond concerning. My friends witnessed two siblings at a table across from us and the two waitress and waiter bully them. The pair was slim and other was thick. One ordered something small which was the thick girl and slim ordered a few items. The waiter brings their food to them and gives the overweight woman the extra items and the smaller one the salad instead while laughing at them. The young waiter then called her a “fatass”.I could tell the woman was hurt but what could I do? The staff is in need of behavioral changes along with retraining staff to avoid sending the wrong message to customers.
There appetizer could have been better. Stuck together and burnt around edges. Dinner trays were good. Drink peach lemonade were perfect. It's costly
Ate at the bar, the Texas Goes Tiki drink is flavored with prickly pear syrup and is wonderful. Lucille's Classic Caddy was also gigantic and strong. Bar food has good veg options including the buffalo cauliflower and spinach artichoke cheese dip.
Thoroughly enjoyed my food. The service was a little slow but we didn't mind. Will definitely be coming through again.
I wish I could rate a negative 10. Ben, the manager, has no management skills, no customer service skills, no people skills, and his presence, demeanor, his entire outlook proves it. I watched Ben so call clean a table on the patio after a couple left, for a party of 6 to occupy, are you kidding me, during covid, when germs are at its highest. He literally cleaned one little spot with a dirty towel. The drinks are watered down, and the bartender is rude, cutting you off in the middle of a sentence. I really think the entire team, from the front of the house, to the back of the house hate their job, based on what I see. I feel like they give a mediocre service because it's patrons are 90% black. Trust when I say, I will not EVER patronize LUCILLES, there are too many other restaurants I can go to. Lucilles need to realize the competition is high when it comes to food in Los Angeles.
