I ordered a brisket sandwich. It was pure fat. None of the fat was trimmed from the meat before it was put into the sandwich. And it needs to be braised another three hours. It was tough and undercooked and chewy. It was disgusting. And expensive. So incredibly disappointed!
Customer service was amazing. Normally always get take out. First time sitting in this location for dinner. The young gentlemen there was so friendly and made my experience better. Forgot his name but kudos for your friendly attentive service.
Our first time in tonight and it was a great experience. All the employees greeted us, were kind, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. The Nashville nuggets were very good and the pickle chips(although I prefer spears) were seasoned perfectly. We will be back for sure! Thank you Paul and the rest of the staff.
The food might be great, I'm not sure, but I would highly recommend people avoid ordering delivery from this restaurant. Due to non traditional hours at work, I put my dinner order in the first thing this morning, and honestly looked forward to it all day. They did not inform me they were cancelling my order until about fifteen minutes before it was supposed to arrive - nearly 12 hours later. This left me scrambling to find alternatives, and confused as to why I was not informed my order wasn't possible until the last second. Anyone with a busy schedule - avoid.
We were heading back to Torrance and wanted to grab something before hitting the crowded freeway. The Holy Cow came up on our search for barbecue and we decided to give it a try. The place, and the menu seemed like a place we ate at in San Clemente earlier this year, and it was about the same in most aspects. We went with the Big BBQ Sampler which cost the same as two 2-meat plates. The 1/4 pound of each meat looked very small on the serving tray, but, for the most part, tasted good (I wasn't tickled with the Carolina Pulled Pork). If you like barbecue, it might be worth a stop...
I may be a hard girl to please being a little southern myself, little nitpick-y, that being said not bad barbecue for LA. I had high hopes for this place, not easy to find southern cuisine in Los Angeles in general. There was a great atmosphere, very homey. I stopped by for a quick dinner with the pulled pork sandwich, I do wish the barbecue was mixed in with the pork, which was not very seasoned. Mashed potatoes were okay, I feel like the ‘special ingredient’ is just sour cream though. I know mashed potatoes don’t generally come with gravy here but being so southern based I feel like there should be an option. And Personally, I hated the cornbread. I was feeling quite homesick and this solidified the feeling. It tasted more like a very dry yellow cake than cornbread. Extremely sweet and dry, and when paired with the extremely sweet butter it could be classified as a bad desert rather than a side.Pie was good but quite expensive for being pre-packaged, room temp, and less than a full slice.
Meats were both VERY dry, jerky-like. Sauces were excellent. Staff was exceptionally confused. And they took siup/chili off the menu.Don't think I'll be back... so many other places in town for BBQ.
My girl is from pampa Texas and she misses home all the time. We recently discovered holy cow and this place rocks! Such solid vibe and the ownership/employees got that BBQ personality. Buffalo boneless wings go crazy.
My dad and I can't agree over weather or not he should get a therapist, but we can both agree that the brisket sandwiches were tasty!!Order drinks if you're eating there since refills are free. I had ginger ale for the first time in years and I forgot that it is SO GOOD!!
Wow! What fantastic brisket!! I also had some excellent tri - tip and pulled pork. I will definitely be going back when I'm in Culver City.
