Fifty One is one of our to-gos when we are not sure what to have. The staff is very attentive and their dim sum is top notch, specially for the price. And if you go on Sundays, then their dim sum is 50%! What else! I recommend booking the table to make sure the whole experience is extra smooth.
They have a protein dry pot where various meats and seafood are fried and then served in a lidded casserole with various tender-crisp veggies in a sauce. First time I got it I was blown away but this time the chunks of beef were so tough! They were too big to eat in a bite, too hard to break apart with chopsticks, too wet to want to eat with your fingers. The shu mai are massive here. Loved the green beans.

We went here for lunch and were practically the only customers there at this particular time. Originally we planned to eat outside but the inside of the restaurant is really striking. There are beautiful printed screens separating some of the different eating areas. There are lanterns and a (faux) cherry blossom tree....definitely instagram ready! It's open and airy. The food was very good...somethings are better than others....but still well done! It was a friend's birthday and they had balloons ready and sesame balls for dessert. For lunch, it was very reasonable and there were 3 of us. I will definitely return.
Order the Wasabi crispy shrimp. It's fabulous. The Peking duck was delicious and had beautifully crispy skin. The dim sum was homemade and 50% off on Sundays.
