I was less than happy with my telephone order experience and contact with hostess when I picked up my order. Both times she was rude. Food was good but a lot more expensive. Paid extra for chips and salsa. Don't you get that free when you eat at this restaurant? Got a big bag of chips and small container in of chips for $4.50. Even if food was good and portion size big, I may not be ordering food to go awhile from this location.
Very good food. Waitress was very attentive and friendly. Hostess not so much. Hostess told us to go seat ourselves and she'd bring us our menus. I went to wash my hands, Hostess was talking to someone. I walked right by her, I thought her seeing me would remind her we needed menus.Waitress came to our table and asked if we would like to order drinks, we said yes and told her we were still waiting for the Hostess to bring us menus. Waitress went and got us menus. She brought our drinks, we ordered lunch and she refilled our chips and salsa. Food was good, the waitress was very good. Only reason 4 instead of a 5, was due to Hostess bad service.
Having a graduation meal. Called to order salsa and chips. When they answered I was asking to be put on hold. I actually was on hold all the way to arriving there. I showed them I was still on hold and now I'm here. The cashier looks at the phone where the lights are blinking and hits them to disconnect and tells me the phones aren't working. So now I order physically. And had to sit and wait. Because it's Friday and super busy. But the phone is ringing and they are taking orders while I sit there...
Great phone order experience and food really hot the spot. Called in advance for a carnitas burrito to go. Order was smooth and friendly. Food was ready when they promised and the flavors were there. I have had better carnitas and the salsa was way too mild for me, but it hit the spot and was was big enough for left overs. With the dining room open, I will stop by to dine in so I can give a full review, but for this take out experience, it was really pretty good.
Rey's is at the entrance to a mobile home park and its architecture seems somewhat mobile home-inspired (long and narrow). But the fact that it's a busy place indicates its ongoing popularity with locals. It's dishes like their chile relleno, albondigas, pescado al mojo de ajo, and burrito del mar that keep us coming back. And they have the best refried beans in Covina.
Great shredded beef tacos, beans and rice plate , love coming here when I’m in the area, great friendly and fast service
I've been coming here for more then 20 years this last time was not a good experience the host at the counter was rude and after eating the tacos I ordered they were bland the salsa just tasted like tomato no good. I don't think I will be going back.
Trashy service. The front cashier guy (bald young kid) was gossiping with one of the waitresses while my father and I were paying. They were saying how "that customer doesn't seem like they are a good tipper" and "yeah, I think the customer was trying to leave without paying. I swear...". And much more in front of paying customers. They need to give a customer service training because not only is that trashy, its unethical to be gossiping about customers in front of other customers. That same waitress who was gossiping was also not nice or doing her job. The waitress we had was in a rush, gave our drinks late, and did not come around to check if everything was okay. Matter of fact, she wasn't really friendly, brief, and indifferent. Shame that they have customer service representing "Mexican" restaurants like this.
Not worth it at all I ask for a CARNE ASADA BURRITO and all I got was a rice and bean tortilla and chesse but no CARNE A TOTAL RIP OFF and worst they dont have any Chile WTH they offerd only Tapatio ? and claimed there Mexican restaurant.
Server was in a hurry but man that Machaca con huevo was so good
