Xena, our server, made this visit so wonderful. The spot is loud most of the time, from what I know. The patrons go for the drinks and then the food, I think? The flavors are pretty wild but the drinks are so very well done. Also, Xena explained everything to us each time we had a question about ingredients and preparation. Everything went pretty smoothly and the decor is pretty shockingly cool. :)

Cool hole in the wall. Hip music. Great service. The avocado toast for Saturday brunch was absolutely delicious. The homemade foccacia was fantastic. I was skeptical of Cucumbers on the toast but it totally worked and brought everything together by adding such a brightness to it. The classic burrito and hot sauce was perfect. Good drinks, good food, relaxed/unpretentious vibes. Will be back!

Ended up here since it was one of the places opened the latest and I remember it being a cool place.Service - Place gets busy but staff hussles and does the best they can to keep up and help everyone.Drinks - Decent selection of options, and the pours are great here.Prices - Great prices on drinks.Venue - Decent size and has a party, social feel to it.Overall fun place that's worth hitting up.

Very fun place with diet busting food choices. Got the Capresse Burger and had them put it on grilled sourdough. No problem! Drinks are mixed very well. Pizza by the slice is thick crust style so one is a meal. Grilled Brussels Sprouts were just the right amount of chat crunch.

Great place to grab a drink with friends. The food on the other hand is just ok, not like gotta come to have that. Got the Chili cheese fries and my friend got the club. We had come before and the food was not all that but was trying it again. I'd say stick to the drinks ? ? and have fun.

For St Patty’s day it’s the best! On other days, I don’t know but the servers are great and they handle business! The vibe is pretty chill and the crowd is great. Next time I’ll try to get their food but overall it was a great experience. The parking is probably the hard part but they got valet!

While this wouldn't necessarily be the first stop when bar-hopping in Costa Mesa, Wild Goose Tavern is a viable option given its location. For starters, reservations are not mandatory but highly recommended if you're bringing a large party with you. Second, if you aren't lucky enough to get parking in the back then you'd do best to just valet it at Playa Mesa next door or you'll be walking very far away.Since we dined during the pandemic, we opted to sit outside and were very pleased with the patio. The interior itself is definitely more like a tavern so if that isn't your scene that I definitely recommend going outside.BBQ SHORT RIB FRIES - $12 - holy moly was this amazing! Arguably the best short rib fries I've ever had... if I could even recount the times I've ever had it to begin with! Seriously, it was just that good. They don't skimp on the meat and they certainly fill you up. If you're ordering this to share, just know that this will realistically be best for no more than a party of 3-4.PEPPERONI PIZZA - $30 - now I am a huge fan of pan pizza and I'm also a huge fan of thick sicilian slices of pizza but the only gripe I have with this is that the pepperoni was beyond salty. So much so that if you didn't feel compelled to order a drink you would definitely want to do so after having a couple bites. Maybe they make it this way on purpose, but I couldn't tell you. We had these cut into about 6 squares but if you're sharing with a lot of people it's definitely possible to cut them into smaller pieces as it was good for close to 6 people.Other than that, the place itself wasn't terrible but I wouldn't say it was memorable and something I'd come back to either. While I certainly would consider getting the short rib fries again, there are just so many other options in the area that you may want to check out first.

A nice, above average bar. Clean and cozy with a large dining area. The pizza slice is very good... Except it has pepperoni - which I don't eat.

The New revamped and remodeled Wild Goose is seriously epic. Such a big difference from the once still cool semi hole in the wall. The crowd was heavy and super fun atmosphere. And the food we had was amazing as well, great new menu. CM’s newest hot spot for sure!!!

Had a great time. Went with friends and there was plenty of room. Service was good and she kept our bottomless mimosas topped off. Prices were good for the area. Overall good and well be going again.
