This was my first time trying this restaurant and I liked it. This is a self-served restaurant. You order your food, pay for it, and find an empty table to sit down. I ordered a large bowl of udon and its portion was good. There wasn't a lot of people might be it was still early and it was a weekday. In conclusion, I like this restaurant and will come back.

Today there was an attempt on my life. Someone wanted to give me kidney stones or high blood pressure. The curry udon had a lot of salt where I was drinking a lot of water. My co-worker also agreed. I think they did not measure the correct amount. That said, the udon noodles were perfectly cooked. Customer Service was good. Not sure if I'll return, the meal left me a bit salty about it.

Loved it. I definitely blew it by putting my tempura on top of my bowl. I am a total novice. I got the sweet tofu with a tempura egg and shrimp- absolutely delicious. I topped my bowl with fresh green onion, tempura flakes, and ginger. Could be 5 stars but I have no baseline. What I do know is that I need to go home and learn about the proper way to eat noodles ? ?

It’s a bit chill today so who is craving for an udon on Thursday like me??Highlights of the menu:1. Tonkotsu udon: with tonkotsu, crumps and boiled egg2. Nikutama udon: topped with savory beef and hot spring egg3. Tempura: shrimp, sweet potato, crab meat4. Ginger berry oolong teaYummy udon located inside South Coast Plaza! The soup base is on point, meat is tendered, tempura is fried and kept warm when served that still keeps the moist inside. I especially love the eggs here, they are cooked at perfect temperature.Such a great location and super yummy udon. I love the long bar area where you can see the fresh tempura and pick them for your meal! For the udons, you can order them from the menu when seated at the table. There was a very long line when it was opened and when I went. But it doesn’t keep me away from eating Marugame Ramen!!

Fresh noodles. Long lines at times, but a good place for a quick meal.

Feels like a hole in the wall place. Line was long, but the food is soooooo good. The line was long because of the quality of food. Udon was so fresh. Staff was awesome taking care of everyone. There is sitting, but can be a challenge.

The location was extremely fast. When I went there today it was quite busy and there was a 5-10 minute waiting line. The curry broth was extremely delicious and the tempura was crispy. The ginger berry oolong tea is unique and won't be of taste for everyone, though I enjoyed it myself. The food was extremely good and filling. I will be coming back when I visit South Coast Plaza.

The noodles were super fresh, the broth super tasty and sadly the young girl on the cash register super slow.. which meant the delicious hot noodles went cold from when they were plated to when they were paid for. Hungry prospective patrons lined up outiide, not because the restaurant was full - there were plenty of empty tables - but because they were stuck waiting for the cashier. We felt bad for the girl, she needed more training and should not have been working during peak hour. BUT still, the food was really good, the tempura prawns and squid really fresh and delicious. Highly recommend, but be warned, you may wait at a time you don't expect to!

The food was great, delicious fresh noodles and they would have been nice and hot, had the young girl on the checkout had more training, been faster, and/or not put on during peak hour. The problem was the waiting time from when they served up your piping hot noodles on your tray, to when you cleared rhe checkout. There was a line out the door, not because there was no seating, or the restaurant was too busy, but because no one was migrating from cash register to seating due to how slow the cash register was. On the upside, the tempura squid was amazingly soft and fresh. We had the best seller udon but I personally preferred what our girls got, rhe curry beef broth udon. Will go again, providing there's someone different on the register.

Place is alright. Got the tonkatsu udon, very salty. Tempura is okay, little soggy because a majority of it is sitting under a heat lamp rather than "fresh on the spot". Style and interior is nice. Can't reserve seats either which I personally think is great. Staff/kitchen super friendly on recommending items to pair with udon. Would I come back here, maybe.
