Outstandig sushi. One of the best I ever taste. Clasic Japanese resto in the South Plaza

Skip this place. Food was not fresh and I came on a Sunday. Usually sushi places closes on Sunday’s due to no fresh fish deliveries on Sundays. Nothing was up to par and the best thing was the ice cream that came with the VIP sushi set. I’m surprised this place is still holding up, will never be back. Go to Anqi on the other side. Been to a lot of restaurants by the south coast mall and that restaurant never disappoints.

Noah: I absolutely love this gosh darn place. Quite honestly, it was the single greatest restaurant I have ever been to. The rice was unequivocally bussing, and the salmon (without avocado) tasted like peace and tranquility.

What an amazing sushi experience! I asked the chef for tuna ? and salmon nigiri and 2 chef choice. The chef choice is what made the experience 5 star. He didn’t use just fish: added toasted onions with a light sauce for flavor, lemon zest with sea salt and roe, these details made this the best sushi I’ve ever had. The Sea Bream was my favorite. Don’t dip the sushi!Spare ribs were great. Calamari was light and crispy with a citrus mayo dip. It’s not a cheap meal but definitely worth the quality and impeccable service. They don’t leave plates pile up or drinks go empty.

Husband and I had THE WORST experience at this place with the owner/chef Hamamori. We made reservation and came on time. Sat down at the sushi bar as we usually like to interact with the sushi chefs. 3 sushi chefs, no one greeted us. Finally I got the hostess to take our order because apparently she said all 3 chefs were busy, as I watch all of them getting drunk with customers, Especially the owner chef Hamamori. He was pounding 2 glasses of beer at the same time downing 2-3 sake shots every 3-5 minutes or so. None of the sushi chefs talked to us the entire time until chef Hamamori came over asking what bottle we were drinking as we brought our own bottle for corking. So we offered him a shot and he said “why do you think I came over”. All good. Finally we got some food after waiting and watching them all getting drunk and hammered with the customers. Then as my husband sips on some water he coughed a bit as it went down the wrong pipe, chef Hamamori comes over again and said “are you choking on water? YOU ARE A WIMP!” As both of us starred at him and asked him “excuse me?!” He says “YOU ARE A WIMP” again! I mean what the F! I don’t care who you are, how drunk you are, joking or not, this is not how you treat a first time customer! This is not how you treat anyone! I don’t care how good your food is or how amazing of a chef you are, you are a drunk! You shouldn’t be running a business DRUNK and calling ur customers a “wimp”. Worst restaurant experience ever. To chef/owner Hamamori, you were so rude, drunk, unprofessional and unpleasant, run your business drunk or however you want, we will never return and will be spreading the words of how horrible your restaurant experience was.
