Good ramen around town! Wouldn’t say my favorite but it’s good!
First time here, me and my mom got the Spicy Miso soup ramen & curry. The curry was okay, a bit cold. The chicken was delicious though, crispy enough but a bit cold. The dumplings were a bit small, but still delicious! The ramen is definitely delicious, a bit pricey but worth it! ? The place is small, but comfortable. I will be coming again!
Black devil is amazing. Personally better without the toppings. Pro tip: 15% discount on 15th of each month
Tl;Dr "Good Soup" - Adam DriverI'll be honest I'm a very critical person when it comes to ramen. Ramen is a miniature contained universe of diverse and contrasting flavors. It is a balance.Hakata Ikkousha has achieved near perfection for my criteria. Opinions are subjective so I implore you go in with no expectations and taste for yourself. The tonkotsu broth has a very rich porky flavor it is salty however do not let that dissuade your opinion you can adjust the strength of the broth. I like mine rich. You have options on how firm or soft you want your noodles. The noodles themselves are fresh and I get mine firm they hold their tensile strength and do not go limp.Toppings are simple. You aren't bombarded with numerous choices. Yes variety is the zest of life; however, the small amount of choices for toppings keeps it very simple and makes life easier. The chashu pork is wonderful. Chashu pork is seasoned braised pork. You can taste the quality of the pork. Sometimes you can taste if it's aged or if they just stewed the meat but Hakata Ikkousha has preserved the flavor of the pork despite being seasoned in soy sauce and other spices. The quality of the meat is excellent. My experience was amazing. In the immortal words of Adam Driver "Good Soup ?."I recommend trying the tonkotsu first and then the black garlic tonkotsu. The black garlic adds a sweetness that balances the saltiness of the broth.
Got reccomended this place by the OrangeCounty subreddit. People were discussing best ramen places in Socal and Hakata kept getting mentioned. So my friends and I decided to try it out. Overall, we all liked it but personally I think I prefer Hiro Nori. Had the Tonkatsu ramen.
I tried the god fire ramen with heat number 2 and the broth was delicious. The ramen noodles however are very thin. Like angel hair pasta so that kind of threw it off. Overall it was a good experience. Food was fast and the workers are friendly and they do a great job with social distancing in the tables.
Fantastic bowl of ramen, would recommend!Black Devil ramen, level 3 spiciness, light richness, normal noodle chew, with onions for $13.5The ramen was extremely rich, just go light here... The noodles were beautifully done, I like the thin noodles with a good chew to it. I'd say the spiciness at level 3 was right under the 2x fire noodle level. To me, that's perfect and anymore would be unenjoyable. The volume of food was moderate, but it's so much flavor that I think it's a good choice. There was a pretty thin piece of chasiu, it was tender. Just wish I had another. We also got a large order to of chicken karaage. Good choice of dark meat. It was fried super crispy and the inside was moist and tender.Got here at 6:45pm in a Tuesday night. There was plenty of seating. Though another time I came here was Saturday at 9:30pm when it was happy hour, packed. We were lucky to get a couple of the stalls. You go in, order with a slip of paper and it comes out quick! Parking at the lot is plentiful because a lot of the other shops in the plaza are closed at night.
Great ramen
This place makes good consistent bowls of ramen. Tried their spicy god fire and black soup ramen. Both were pretty different than your typical ramen.I’ll come back to try something else :)
Simply the best ramen. Don't be put off by the strip mall, no-nonsense environment and just adequate service....the ramen is absolutely the best in the west
