From homemade breads , cakes to cookies. I love French’s bakery! It’s so hard to walk out without buying all their baked goods. Every cookie I’ve had is delicious. Their toffee house cup cake or as a cake itself is so moist and flavorful. I love to pick up their small cake for birthdays or small celebrations. The ima will add icing on it right then ! Don’t forget to try their lemon bars too.Worth the wait for the fresh bread.
The whole bakery smelled amazing. The employees were so kind and delightful. Every pastry looks perfect and the buttercream in the cakes look so smooth. I am so glad my cousin brought me!

Called Thursday and was placed on hold for a very long time, then someone transferred me to get a quote for my cake according to them the person that knows the pricing. My quote was one for $81 and one for $85 I asked for 2 cakes. Then I called today to place my order and the owner changed the price to over $120. The problem is that I have nothing in writing to prove that this is the quote. Owner said this is the quote according to her books. As the owner of a business she should have done her due diligence to see who quoted this quote and honor it, but because I myself did not get the name, I had no evidence. I was placed on hold for a long time in both occasions. The owner by the name of Guadalupe was very rude and condescending. I have never tasted their pastries, it appears it could be good not sure but this does not give any one the right to provide bad customer service. In reading some of the reviews this is a trend with pricing and poor customer service.

This place has my favorite cupcakes, I like to go there every few days and check surprise cupcakes of the day. Their cupcakes are just amazing, they are my favorite cupcakes so far! Their prices are very reasonable with the quality products they make. Definitely recommend trying.
My favorite local bakery! They make the most amazing "killer chocolate" cupcakes here. Get them if you love chocolate. I also got my wedding cake from French's. All the flavors I tried with my now husband were delicious. The cake was gorgeous and exactly what we had pictured.
Been coming here for years, drive a long way to this specific French’s because they are better than the other locations in the quality of there cakes. However I ordered a custom cake order and supplied pictures with the order, when I went to pick up order it looked nothing like the picture, the owner was very rude and treated me very unkindly. I complained feeling as though it was my right since the order was so poorly executed. I reluctantly paid and took my order home. A few months later I decided to give them a second chance, so I went in to order a cake, the owner was there to take my order as she was with the previous order, so when ordering my cake she made every excuse she could come up with why she couldn’t have my cake ready when I needed it. Needless to say I will never return to French’s Costa Mesa and suggest no one else does. Why would you reward someone for running a bad business ?
I’m loyal to a fault. Three years ago they did an amazing job on a cake for our son. Ever since them they have messed up every cake we have ordered. If you do want to order from this bakery, just ask them what THEY want to make you, because that’s what you’ll get. Never what you ordered. Big deal that they refund you $10 whenever they mess up. The moment is gone when someone made a request and they don’t honor it. I get it - it’s just cake. Thank God we don’t have this team involved in our national defense or anything important. The cupcakes are always dry because they just sit there, so we no longer stop by for those any more. Time to move on to a business that can honor a simple request and will take pride in their business.
This bakery is pretty much a joy to go to anytime. Friday's I prefer because its usually on only Fri\Sat they make two kinds of muffin size Quiches that are Sumptuous! They sell out early so its important to get in Before 10am. Love their Turnovers! Boysenberry is thee Best!heir cookies are not predictable in terms of being soft which is a drawback to me 'cause there's nothing like your mouth getting ready for that first bite of yummy, soft & gooey bite only to Crunch bite it. Friendly, Clean & fresh is always good which they have covered. Their Tarts are A Poem of flavor, & have a great variety you don't always see! Go, eat, taste & repeat!
