This is one of my favorite places to grab a great bit of food. I really like the Beef Stew Baguette. It's great to share or just a meal on its own.The Jasmine Lime Ice Tea is very refreshing or you can indulge from a great selection of beers and wines! Highly recommend giving this place a try, I have always enjoyed anything from the menu!
The outside dining area was great on a nice, sunny, and breezy Sunday. That was the highlight of this experience. The food however, would do wonders with more improvement. I ordered the Bo Kho (Vietnamese beef stew) with noodles. The broth tasted good after a couple sips but it is just too rich and thick for my tastes, if it was soupier and lighter it could’ve been perfect. The vermicelli noodles with beef was okay. The taste lacked so we needed extra chili sauce and nuoc mam (Vietnamese fish sauce).Server was friendly and it was a nice ambience. Even though I felt a stomachache after eating, I would give this place another chance to see if my impression changes. I think Americans/foreigners that aren’t familiar with Vietnamese food would like/love it, but me being Vietnamese, my expectations are high for our cuisine.
Staff is super friendly and the food is amazing. The Banh mi is amazing. Guve them a try and support your local small business community.
This is the second time we visited but we arrived shortly after 4:30 to find the place ready for lock up. My Mrs. asked if it was still open, but there was hesitation from the staff, and said to-go only -- there was nowhere to sit since everything was inside. I know, my rule is generally if I place has chairs flipped it means it's closed, but my Mrs. persisted and we took it to go.Big mistake. We sat at the nearby tables - outside of the restaurant's enclosure - eating the food almost instantly, so zero travel time.I ordered the pork belly ban mi and it was nothing but fat. Like, huge chunks of fat with zero meat. When I pulled it apart it was essentially half a sandwich of meat and the rest of it was fat - which I threw out. I had eaten the sandwich before so I thought, no big deal. Big mistake. The food tasted funny and within 30 minutes of eating half the sandwich I was home in my bathroom throwing up.My advice: show up early and with ample time since last time it took 30 minutes to get our food served and it all came at once: apps and entrees. But for me it's done. You can't expect me to return for that subpar service and even more horrendous food.My Mrs. got the pork vermicelli and everything was super wet when it came out, veggies were limp, and the vermicelli cut up to pieces. She threw out 2/3 of it since it was also inedible.Won't be returning.Update:Both my Mrs and I got food poisoning and she had the pork - we had two different types of pork and same result.
5 hrs later and Im still burping up the flavor of the vermicelli bowl and have what Im sure is food poisoning since I have chills, dizziness, lightheadedness, sweating, bloating, horrible burping and stomach pain.My protein was too greasy (seemed like it was the last bits of the day) and my greens didn't taste fresh. We were disappointed since our first time the food was fresh, flavorful, nicely cooked and easy to digest (husband got the bành mí and also got sick) Always a bummer when a place with lots of potential has no consistency. Will not return.
This place was recommended to me after I posted a question about banh mi sandwiches served with pho for dipping. Wow, they did not disappoint! Well worth the trip.
We had a delightful lunch here. Our table in the quiet fenced-in private outdoor patio had a leisurely feel. All three dishes we ordered from the simple menu were tasty and spot-on. The crunchy bean sprouts, cucumber and peanuts gave the refreshing cold vermicelli salad a nice mouth feel; the accompanying egg roll with soft mushroom tofu filling was a wonderful bonus. My dining partner loved her flavorful chicken curry soup with a sweet, pleasing coconut milk flagrance. The healthy delicious green kale salad (with quinoa and pickled mango) we shared was also very good.
All I had was the Vietnamese Coffee and it was very Tasty and Strong. Friendly Staff and Cool atmosphere ?
The banh mi sandwiches and vermicelli are delicious ? One thing I wish is that it wasn't ground beef.
Pho baguette ?? grapefruit salad ???? consistent and very good quality. Rare.
