Visiting California from New York State our hotel recommended this place and I can’t say enough great things about it!!!! The staff was very friendly, refilled your coffee cup whenever it was halfway gone, and the food was amazing it literally took seven minutes to come out piping hot! We will be here again during our vacation!!!!!

Looking for an overhyped, overpriced diner? Look no further!New owners can’t fix mediocre food or bizarrely high prices for cheap ingredients. Bonus: Getting food poisoning on a busy Sunday where we waited 30 minutes to be seated and another hour to get our food. Avoid the hype! Go to Breakfast Republic instead.

Let me first say that all the staff was super friendly and tried to be helpful. But the food itself was rather blah. I had the biscuits and gravy, and the gravy was very plain and the biscuits were doughy inside. My wife had an omelette that was average as well. Good folks run and staff the place, but consider upgrading the food a bit.

Great place to eat. great people employed there. Good food, good service!

I've always loved this place, but the past few years it's been really special. The new owners have preserved the original feel and menu, well adding a few things. Definitely a great spot to stop for breakfast or lunch

A real dumpy looking place but you walk inside the people are really nice and the food is good. I think the place has been remodeled and it looks much cleaner than I remember it

Great place for breakfast, but now have a great dinner menu too with full bar, live music, they've changed a bit and was afraid what would happen to the place but its still a friendly neighborhood diner, just a new look i guess.

Had the country breakfast ? biscuits were melt in your mouth delicious. Egg was perfect. Gravy was even better. I will definitely be back for some waffles tomorrow.

The food is delicious and purveyed of the finest ingredients! A talented chef and bartender make this a truly “hidden gem” of Costa Mesa! Stop by and be prepared to be “WOWED”!

First we were very satisfied with the service and the quality of the food. Everyone like their dish. Meatloaf was a hit and my wedge salad had either pork belly or really thick bacon "bits", very tasty and cooked just right.I issue I had was the portion size to cost ratio. I thought the portions were small for the price. BTW, the cost of an entree is in line with the quality of the meal but not the quantity, in my opinion.
