Had the pleasure of eating here after attending a Salsa dancing bootcamp. Had the salmon chorizo dish, so tasty & healthy!! Will definitely be returning. Great ambiance, outdoor patio & free parking.
We hosted an event here. Our guests had an amazing time and everyone from the coordinator to the service staff were very accommodating. The space turned out as our clients wanted, the guests enjoyed the food, and everyone enjoyed the party!
My wife and I went to the Flamenco show which included dinner. Food was not very good. We also ordered a meat and cheese platter for an extra $21. Surprised when we left the bill came to another $89. If you subtract the $21 it was an extra of $68. There was little clarity on the bill but it did mention a surcharge of 5%. It was super expensive for the show originally. The Flamenco show was fun although the main female dancer looks a little old for being in a professional show. She could dance well, but! The worst was the belly dance team of May and Michelle. They also looked like they belonged in a retirement community. I was almost embarrassed fort them. On the positive side the staff were all great.
Great experience, latino side was the best. The other side people push too much. Bar service was great, fried calamari is the best.
Some feedback for your Costa Mesa location from a first-time guest. I called, was told reservations for early Sunday not really needed. We were first in no-res line, and waited 25 minutes for an outside table and got one of several empty the entire time we stood waiting. Ask for two Spanish Vermut (port wine) drinks, the waiter said sweet vermouth, we said yes. We got two drinks that tasted like Yagermeister on the rocks? When the bill came TWO hours later, sure enough, Yagermeister! What happened in those TWO hours…..? Well, the dates stuffed with bleu and wrapped with bacon were excellent. 30 min into the meal, we asked the waiter to let the DJ know that there were two soundtracks playing, one from the speakers over our head, and another from the dance stage. Waiter said the sound over our heads was from the band inside, but offered to turn the speaker off. It played for the next 90 minutes as we sat in the noise from overlapping music tracks. Either one would have been fine, but together they were loud noise. The sausage with onions and brandy was ok. Next up was the saffron paella. Seafood was overcooked and uniformly tough. The rice was a bit gummy, but tasty. The odd thing was it didn’t taste like any paella I’ve had anywhere in Spain, or anywhere in the world for that matter. The menu said it contained saffron. I could not taste any saffron. My guest could not taste any saffron, either. It had lots of cayenne pepper taste, but zero saffron taste. Now on to dessert, which our server said he put in the request for as our dinner plates were cleared. We waited, and waited, and waited, all the while listening to the DJ’s tracks mixed with the inside band’s soundtrack. About 20 minutes into the wait, we asked the guy at the front for our server. 5 minutes later the server came by, said they were sorry it was taking so long, but the desserts were being made from scratch. Huh? We said we’d had enough, and ask for the check and would take any dessert they had in the kitchen with us. The two guests in the table across from us arrived about 5 minutes before us. They had the restaurant week paella, with two appetizers and dessert, and were out of the noise in 45-50 minutes flat! 30 minutes from the time we were told it had been queued, the server brought our desserts on plates. Either he couldn’t hear us over the noise, or didn’t care that we said we wanted the check and any dessert they had in the kitchen, to go! As he set the dessert plates on the table, I think was trying to let us know he had given it some extra effort, because he said he had taken someone else’s desserts. I’ve walked (not driven, but walked) past the Costa Mesa restaurant at least 2-3 times a month, from the time you started construction on the restaurant until today, when I actually sat down for a meal. The build-out was impressive—frankly, more impressive than many Tapas bars in Spain. But, I ask you, would you go back….. for an “authentic” nearly 2-1/2 hour experience (25min wait for an already-cleared table, 6:45p order, 8:45p departure), where you are served German dessert wine instead of Spanish Vermut, tough seafood in gummy, albeit tasty cayenne rice without a hint of saffron, where a server says he’ll turn one soundtrack off (to apparently pacify you) and then lets you sit for 90 minutes without offering to move you, while you wait 30 minutes for dessert from “scratch” that has defrost sweat on it, and have to sit and eat it quickly despite requesting it to-go, because the server couldn’t hear you over the battling soundtracks noise, or didn’t want to acknowledge a guest’s request? I would bet you wouldn’t return.
Simone is amazing!! We came with a party of 11 and from start to finish she provided excellent service. Everyone at our table was talking all night about how super nice and on top of everything she was! The food was phenomenal - I got to taste the calamari, scallops, and spicy black seafood risotto. They have lots of drinks that sound really good, but I've always ordered the barbacoa margarita. Top notch! Love the ambience of this restaurant - the lights, fire, heaters, music...such a great vibe! The music was slightly deafening but other than that, everything was perfect. If you eat here late enough, the dance clubs open which is fun. The open air style of the dance floors is so much better than most crowded, closed in clubs. I can't believe I've only been here twice. Sevilla is awesome. Would definitely recommend to others and come back!
Visiting a friend from out of town and came here for their highly recommended happy hour cocktails and food. Everything was delicious, so happy I got to experience this place, and will definitely be coming back when I’m in the area next. A special thank you to our server Paul, who did an amazing job… some of the best service I’ve ever received at a restaurant. His recommendations were spot on, and made the experience even more enjoyable!I recommend everyone try the garlic shrimp, happy hour ribs, and the smoked cocktails (per Paul’s expertise). My favorite cocktail was the Andalusian pear drink!
This is definitely a fun place to go if you like Spanish food and tapas, music and dancing. The food was good but the service was below par. We had to remind the server of a few items he forgot to bring to the table. Besides the negative experience with the server rest of the things were great. Nice ambience, good music, fun atmosphere and tasty food. We will surely visit again as you can't and shouldn't write off a place just because of a bad service experience.
I was here for dinner and dancing after on a Wednesday night. We called ahead to ask if we could have dinner and then dance, and were told yes. I was shocked to disvover that if you dine here and want to dance after, the night management will hustle you to pay for an extra “entrance” fee of $15 per person. Mike Perana claimed to be the manager and after paying $121.68 in food, a tip to our waitress of $25.74 (22%), and in total $147.42, we went to dance. Right in the middle of the dance floor, we were tapped and asked to pay for an “entrance fee” by Mike and his employee Kenny. Mike knew we had just dined and he claimed everyone pays to dance. We were shocked! I asked for my printed receipt (see attached) and told him I would be leaving this review. Mike said he did not care and he was in it for the cash (he asked us to give him cash as an entrance fee). We only stayed because we had friends there. I recommend staying away. I will be calling their business office and talking to someone above Mike.
Food was excellent and service was good as well. Our waitress was very attention lots of great live music ?
