We love Mediterranean food so when we saw a promo on Uber Eats for this place and the good reviews, we decided to check them out.Unfortunately, they forgot to include one of the entrées and forgot the sides. When I called, they were really nice about it so that’s a plus. Customer service = 5 starsThe food that we did receive though was mostly 1 star so I didn’t feel too bad about the missing food.We got the ground chicken kabobs. The comment I received about this was “it tastes like I imagine an old shoe to taste” - it was very dry, lacking flavor, and tasted like it was made last month and just heated up. If you can picture that, then you know how these kabobs taste without having to spend money and try it yourself. For me though, the biggest let down was the falafel. I love falafel and read reviews that it was good here. It wasn’t. My parents used to make it from scratch so I always like trying it at different places. This one was just off. Also, dry and the color inside isn’t how falafel should be so perhaps there is just a lot of breading. The pita bread that comes with the meal is cold and store bought….I do realize I’m spoiled when it comes to good Mediterranean food, but even if your standards aren’t high, I’m not sure how you’d like it here.I’ll let you all know when I find some good Mediterranean food, other than at my place. :)
The food was basic. I ordered the Baklava for $4.00 and it was a tiny sliver…I’m talking not even 2” long. I’ve had amazing Baklava from places that take pride in making it and they give you more for $4.00 than this cheap place does AND it’s actually sweet and juicy the way it should be unlike this places sorry excuse. The chicken is dry and rice is as flavored as water. There are much better food options out there. Save yourself the time and money and order from a place that’s not a complete ripoff.
I ordered food from here using Uber eats. Food arrived on time. On the outside, the ground beef sirloin looked fine but on the inside it was stale, slimy and tasted rotten, and it had a spoilt smell. I guess this was old food they decided to get rid of by giving it to Uber eats to deliver because it seems they won't sell that to inhouse customers. This is truly disgusting. Please do better next time. People aren't spending their money to get food poisoning.Threw it in the trash (where it belongs) after having a few spoons of rice to quench my hunger. Utterly disgusting.
I'm glad I finally tried basil Mediterranean grill, it's a hidden gem! The food is all top-notch quality and tasty! I can't wait to explore the rest of the menu, I'll be back.
The chicken kabobs with white balsamic rice is so delicious. The pita bread with spice hummus is also good. They have a wonderful dessert called Baklava. Will definitely go back.
Amazing food and amazing service!
Great Persian restaurant.. they had good portions and friendly staff.. both ground beef kebab and steak kebab were juicy and well cooked
A favorite and always try to eat there when back in Costa Mesa. The food is always fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. The service is pleasant, polite and efficient.
So i ended up going here because the restaurant where i was supposed to meet my friend wasn't open. WOW! This place has amazing food. Tabbouleh, hummus, chicken kabobs, etc. Basil had the standard Mediterranean food, but the quality here is next level. For me it was all about the food. The service was ok. The location is not great and if you aren't looking for it you'll likely miss it. But it's definitely a place i would visit again and already did! Go check out this place!
What a shame. We went tonight and our service was terrible. Our appetizer arrived along with our entry. Food was tasty, but service was horrible. We had to ask for bread! I guess we still have to go Glendale for good Armenian food.
