Great Sushi most of the time. When it is good, it is among the top-5 Sushi restaurants in the Diablo Valley, but it is disappointing when they blow it, but they still serve it up. Ozora Sushi Restaurant has the potential to be #1, with better quality control. If the output is subpar, the Chef should feed it to the Hogs, not to their patrons. Yay! Open late. Closed Sunday. If it sucks, send it back for a rework. They know how to do it right. Yummo. If they're busy, you can order to-go, and your food next door at the Captain's Chest Cocktail & Karaoke Lounge.
Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff and fast service, we ordered ozora combo, sashimi was very fresh, it came with deep fried vegetable tempura and they were crispy and delicious. Combo also came with white rice, miso soup and green salad, the salad dressing was unique. Portions were decent, also ordered Hea dup bup (mixed vegetables with rice, fish eggs and cubed sashimi) was very tasty. Love the spicy red pepper sauce!
The lady on the phone was incredibly rude. First, she said that I cannot substitute one of rolls in my dinner combo, however I did that before for multiple times. I got to make her speak to someone so she would be informed of such posibility. She was so in a hurry to put the phone down, she didn't listened to what I ordered so I had to repeat multiple times to make sure she's got everything right. At the end she didn't say how long I should wait for my order to be done, neither did she listed all items in my order for review.
Turns out I had lunch here. The verdict is as with most places now it feels overpriced. But than again Sushi has never been a cheap. You pay for what you get. So my anticipation was for quality raw fish. With that being said the Sashimi was quite good and did exceed my expectation. Just would have loved maybe one more type of fish for the price. The sides included salad soup and tempura. All were about the norm for a sushi outfit.
Quick take out, about 10 min from order to ready on 4 rolls. Tasty sushi, lots of variety on the menu. Convenient parking and location next to gas station and Wells Fargo, can use wait time for quick ATM stop or picking up whatever from Trader Joe’s or Pet Food Express nearby. The sushi hit the spot with 3 different finicky customers, will come again!
Absolutely FAV place to get sushi in this area. Awesome menu. Fun happy hour options. Calming and chill ambiance and lighting inside. Sitting at the bar is fun and so is being at a table. Oh and take out, YES! Go to spot for sure.
The sushi rolls were definitely tasty and fresh! Great combination of ingredients that complement well with each. The toro sashimi was so flavorful that there was no soy sauce needed and it felt like it melted in my mouth. However, the service wasn't as good as I expected. You only see the waiter when you order and when you get the check. It's annoying how I have to go out of my way just to get utensils and drinks. I wanted to order dessert, but the next time I saw my waiter was when he gave the check, which is implying to leave.I would see myself coming back, but that's because for the food. The service should be improved, like be more attentive to your customers. Because this was my first time dining here, I tipped generously, but if this kind of service continues the next time I come, then I wouldn't tip.
Really good bento boxes, and the rolls I've had were delicious and HUGE!
Today is Wednesday and according to the site they close at 10pm, we drove 20 minutes to get there at 9:20 and they told us they closed at 9:30. I got off work late and ditched other options closer bc we typically really like this place. I wish I wouldn't have waisted my time. Huge let down being that now -everything- else in close proximity is literally closed. Please fix your hours! I’m starving and very sad.
Huge menu. Great service. Clean and elegant inside space plus outdoor seating
