This place is a hidden gem. The food is fantastic, authentic Japanese fare. Friendly service and reasonable prices. Added bonus that they are open reasonably late as well.
Honestly, their nigiri is one of the best. I don't know what kind of clout you need to comment on sushi, but let's just say I've eaten at many omakase dinners and have eaten at Shiro's who was an apprentice of Jiro. For being located in Concord, this is a diamond in the rough. We've been to other places around here and they are respectable, but without a doubt everytime we have a craving for sushi, we order from our special mom and pop shop here at Izakaya. Please continue to support their business because I do not want them to go anywhere!

Very disappointed. Spicy chicken meal came out in very small portions, was cold and tasted like leftovers. Bento dinner salmon was very small as well but was good. Tuna sushi roll was not good at all……. Didn’t get our soups, came out with food. They forgot. Also never made another roll we ordered. Overall over priced and would never eat here again or recommend.
Any place that serves Orion beer has a special spot in my heart. We started our meal with an order of fried chicken cartilage which is a sure sign of an authentic izakaya.The Chirashi Don was delicious: expertly prepared sashimi over perfectly seasoned rice.The Grilled Miso Black Cod was exceptional. According to my wife, the type of Miso used was legit and the accompanying Kobachi were wonderful compliments to the meal.The yakitori set was spot on, tasty sauce slathered over charcoal grilled skewers of chicken, pork, shrimp, shiitake, and Japanese yam. Cho oishi daiyo!If you’re looking for the quintessential izakaya experience you will be hard pressed to find anything as legit as Izakaya An. The owners were friendly and highly accommodating to me and my family. We will most definitely return to try the rest of the menu!

Izakaya An has delicious authentic Japanese cuisine. I loved it and the owner is so nice. The sake flight is good and every single dish and sushi we ordered was all so good.
Fantastic place for Japanese food.+Food is superb+Staff are always nice and polite+very inviting atmosphere+plenty of parking-Small kitchen staff so food can take a while if during busy periods. Be patient!
Traditional izakaya spot for sure.Staff was friendly.Food was good, price mildly high (always with quality).If you are portions person, this is traditional Japanese portions.
Kaarage appetizer was yummy and good portion to share with 2 or 3 people. Kobachi set with grilled mackerel was delicious and has 3 amazing little sides -the sweet kabocha side is the best and it comes with rice, miso soup, and lightly pickled veggies. Great to find authentic Japanese food in this unexpected spot in Concord. Will definitely come back and next time try the Japanese cocktails - very reasonable priced $6-$7.
