discontinued black beans ... very disappointing
When inside the store to order my food, the cashier ask me for my vaccine card if I will be dining here, I said yes. For me that's good because they're following the protocol of the county.
Got pretty serious food poisoning from this place. First and only time I ever went to El Pollo Loco. Blech. ?

I'd been getting food here for about 16 years and had received good customer service for the most part until late August 2021. They've had this convenient ordering system on their app and I used it one Sunday afternoon to order some food for the family.I got into my car to pick up the food but then my car wouldn't start. Called my insurance to have somebody sent over, was notified the wait would be over an hour. I called El Pollo Loco up to cancel my order since I don't know if the problem with my car is with the battery or alternator. I had to assume to worse of the two. I was told that the order was canceled.I followed up after 3 days since the charge was still on my card and was told that it takes about 5 business days to reverse the charge. After 2 1/2 weeks and 2 more phone calls the charge was still there. I had to call my credit card company to have the amounts charged back. Be careful when you use their ordering system. The customer service is disappointing and everything just seemed dishonest especially after patronizing the place for 16 years.
Everytime we go here its always the same.. Good food except for the tomato salsa always seems to be old which we never eat because of it.

Food is great but they literally never get orders right. They always mess them up or completely forget something. Very, very annoying.
This location have a MUCH BETTER SERVICE than the one in Concord (1551 Monument Blvd).I placed a large order online and not only the food was ready quickly, they actually give the right amount of Salsa that I have requested online. E.g. if I ask for 3 Pico De Gallo, I received 3. The lady that helped me with my order was also very polite.In comparison, the one in Concord will NOT give what you ordered. E.g. You can order 16 pieces chicken with 3 Salsa and the Concord location will only give you ONE (?!).So if you want El Pollo Loco and are in the area, go to this location (Clayton) and you will be much happier.
