This place has truly the best chicken and chorizo you will find in the east bay! Love itThe staff is super nice, the gentleman who owns it is very courteous and friendly.

One of my favorite places to go for lunch. Fantastic food and great people! My go-to menu items are the California, Fajita, or Breakfast burritos.

The Monument Special burrito with al pastor was not tasty. Bit into something hard several times and gave up eating.

My go to spot for burritos. The cali burrito with steak is my choice here. The salsas and the chips are also great.

Much better options in the area, hard pass here.A few problems with this place - nowhere to eat, high prices, debit card tax, and poor food quality. Need I say more? I will.Nowhere to eat - When I visited last week they had the dining area closed. Disappointment, but I ordered anyway. Figured I'd eat outside. No such luck. Plenty of great areas outdoors for a few tables but nothing. Sat on a dirty uncomfortable planter edge and ate.High prices - Why are prices here 20% higher than comparable Bay Area Mexican food? ~$10 for a super burrito?Debit card tax - Wow, they add a surcharge of 3.5% for a debit card, so let's make that 23.5% higher than comparable Bay Area Mexican food!So the price posted on the menu is not accurate. This is actually a violation of their merchant agreement and should be reported to Visa or MC. Credit cards are okay for a surcharge but not debit cards.Poor food quality - I ordered a carnitas super burrito, and unfortunately only the price was super (expensive). Just tasted like watery beans. How do you make pork flavorless? They also forgot sour cream. My spouse got carnitas super nachos and those were not so super. Thanks for the total of three jalapeños by the way, sadly we dropped one on the ground while trying to balance on the planters outside eating.Never again. El Farolito is my goto standard and while similar in name, this place stinks!

I ordered a super burrito with no guacamole. My burrito was made with guacamole which made it inedible for me. The lady making the burritos was mad that she didn’t make the burrito correctly so punished me by taking everyone’s order behind me and making theirs first. I was with a group so we had to wait. The lady ran her mouth and called me ugly in Spanish. I wish I would have overhand chucked my burrito at her. They don’t speak English and kept wrecking everyone’s order. Multiple customers canceled their order in frustration. This food is terrible and overpriced. Don’t come here.

Hard to believe the review about how this place "was" good but no longer. The same restaurant has been in the same family for over 40 years. My experience of at least monthly visits has been that practically nothing has changed. It is my go to restaurant for reliably good mexican food.

This has been out go-to place for years! Recently had them cater for my dad’s birthday. Everything was incredibly delicious! We had more then enough food! Didn’t run out of anything. I highly recommend El Faro, especially for catering.

Tacos and burritos were on point. Salsa picante is ???. Service was meh. Make sure you order clear and loud through your masks. I'll need to try this place again next time I'm in the area in hopes of improved service.
