Came here after searching for a good spot and coming across this place on yelp. After reading the reviews and waiting for 30 -40 min, I expected it to be amazing. I must say, without hating, that it's a bit overrated. I expected a lot better taste. It was ok, nothing special and unfortunately I don't think we would necessarily go back.
I'm sorry but I have to agree with all the other low rated reviews. This place is too hyped up . They must spend a lot on social media marketing because the menudo is not good. It has Little to no flavor and they do not give sauce just pepper flakes :( I bought four large menudos and regret getting so many . They did not have pata but I'm not sure if you're supposed to ask for it.
priced at 8 bucks for a small and 11 for a large, its not too bad, but not that good either. I follow them in the gram and had always wanted a sample. the broth left me hanging for some more flavor and some salt. also, the menudo wasn't scorching hot when I got it. with those two strikes, I unfortunately have to rate this a 3.5 star Menudo. :(
Tried the menudo on Thursday for the first time, honestly it was plain. It didn't live up to the hype it has on Instagram. I'm glad I didn't go all the way to Compton to try it. One time is good for me. I was expecting a bit more but it's cool. Nothing to brag about. This isn't the best in LA either.
So I finally went to try this spot out. Given all the the hype about it being the best In town. Got lucky there was no line at 9am. Ordered a large cost was $11 or $8 for a small. Had a taste of it before adding the toppings, to gauge how much of the toppings I needed to add. First taste was not great broth seemed watered down very thin not much flavor. The meat and hominy was good not over cooked. Added the toppings it comes with onions, oregano, dried chili flakes, limes and cilantro which Is the only topping I didn't add. Oh yeah it also comes with tortillas. So all in all. I think the menudo was ok but not the best in town by any means. At first I thought maybe maybe I got the latter part of the broth and that's why it was so watery and thin. But it was 9am they usually sell out around 11ish so they still had plenty. Would he back I will only to give them another try. But I will definitely not wait in al omg line for it. There is other menudo spots Not to far far from that same area that I would rather wait in line for. So the hype for me is overrated
Flavor for days! Best menudo hands down!
This menudo is all hype I would of bought 3 large ass cans of juanitas menudo and would have had a lot more in my olla aka pot. It's all hype the wonders social media do for businesses. The taste was ok but no mamen me dieron mas caldo que granos or meat. FUXKING PRICEY. Mejor make my own at home and with better taste and fresh granos not that can shut like they use. I don't know who keeps telling them it's the best menudo around. Need to stop claiming your menudo is the best!
Pretty tasty, went out of my way to go here and I was definitely satisfied with the taste...next time I'm bringing my pot to get some for the whole family
Beet menudo hands down! I drove from Menifee ca to go try this menudo and I'm so glad I did. The workers were nice, it was fast and convenient and the line was fast. The only problem I had was I didn't bring home enough lol Next time I think I will take my own pot so I can bring more home!
Last time I went I spent around 30 dollars, and today I went to Amapola and spent only $10 for a full pot. I couldn’t believe it it!! It’s about the same flavor but less expensive..
