Came in with my 7 year old and 2 year old daughters. Initially the experience was not bad. Food was a bit late but understandable since the kitchen was backed up it seems. Apparently the waitress didn't listen to my order since I ordered plain Asada tacos with only meat and when the order came it was carnitas with toppings so I re stated my order. Initially the taco looked nice and crispy and when they came back with a taco with just meat, it looked like it was dipped in oil and put on the plate. The taco came sloppy and all the waitress said was "here you go". Top it off, the beans and rice were not warm. Smh. I ordered fajitas and took them 10 minutes to get the tortillas and now that I think of it I never got my albondiga soup. Unreal. I taught my 7 year old daughter about Customer service today. Don't expect too much from this place. Idk why I got that treatment, regardless we won't be coming here again.
?????(Awarded Cinco Casas)The House of Maria is truly "Maria's casa!"I sat alone at a table for six for almost 30 minutes! When everyone finally arrived in our party Maria gave everyone a free shot of tequila! What a Patron saint! The only drawback is that the salsa tasted like it came from a can! But for the freebies, you must visit! Ask for Maria and share this review! She loves positive experiences!
There were three tables eating when we came in. Had to stand at the door for a couple of minutes. Was seated and immediately asked if we wanted something to drink. Server came back in a decent amount of time with beverages, chips and salsa. Took our order .. my salad came. We waited a good amount of time for the entrees. The photo is my entree. $19.99. I declined it .. it was delivered exactly as you see in the photo. The server got defensive, so I didn’t order anything else.
In the past Casa Maria has had decent food, marginal service, but we kept coming back, until our visit last night. We got seated quickly, received our chips and salsa for free, it took at least 20 or more minutes to get our order taken, and then the food never came so we asked for more chips and salsa, and was told it will be an extra charge. That was ok except our food came over 30 minutes or more later so chips should have been included but that’s ok.Then, our food came, and it was good and finally hot, which was great. We asked for a piece of butter and we were told it would .25 extra, which was more than disappointing. When are you going to charge for seating or what else should we say? My goodness!!!!We asked to speak to the owner and she never came out. We went to pay at the counter after waiting 15 minutes for the owner and my husband asked the waitress if she was the owner, she said no I’m her daughter so we talked to her about the extra charges and how we haven’t ever been charged for butter before. The owners daughter was defensive, very rude, and said welcome to 2022 we have to pay for everything so you do too. My husband said well you e just lost two customers and she said basically she didn’t care. If she could have had a better attitude, because we do understand about prices, but DONT over charge people and then be so rude and defensive.Have some respect for your paying good customers because you may look back when your doors close and ask what went wrong
Ordered a chimichanga to go and they took Greta attention to detail. They poked holes in thr box so the steam would not make my burrito soggy! I was very impressed.. It tasted delicious as well. Young man who took our payment was very kind and courteous.
I cook a lot and eventually you want to go out so you don’t have to cook. I go to many Mexican restraints and so far this is the best I’ve had. My in-laws first took me there long ago and I went back yesterday and had a Michilada”2 of them” and the Camarones al diabla which is hot shrimp plate which they perfectedHeat and taste. Totally recommend .
This place is a delightful surprise. I went in not really expecting much because it's in Clovis. If you're from the area you would understand. I have found that you can judge a Mexican restaurant based on their salsa. The salsa here is a solid 8 out of 10 and I would give their food about the same rating. I had the posole and it was excellent. The hominy was cooked to perfection and the taste of the broth bespoke authenticity. The menudo is a good choice as well. I would recommend this place based on tonight's service.
Friendly staff. Enjoyed large chicken chimichanga. Arrived at 5pm and seated quickly but by 5:30 pm most tables were occupied.
Casa Maria is a friendly Mexican restaurant that serves great authentic Mexican food. The service is great! The atmosphere is comfy as well! I recommend that you try it out.
I waited for about 15 minutes as the owner Maria walked over to ask how many in my party. She said tables would be ready soon so I proceeded to wait. As I waited two medical assistants walked in and started hand gesturing with the owner. They sat at the next available table and she allowed it. I just thought it was disrespectful because I could see the owner kept staring at me knowing that I saw what happened. I just let it go because my mother law hadn’t arrived. Few seconds later another group of people walked in and one of the waiters asked how many because a table was ready. That’s when I had to jump up and let her know I was waiting and hadn’t been seated. Their waiters are not courteous or polite. They completely ignore you unless you get their attention. Had to repeatedly ask for water for it to be given to me. The place was a lot better when they had to seat people outside because of COVID.
