It is a restaurant, that is located in downtown area of Claremont. I have been to this restaurant once. It was at the beginning of December 2021. The meal, that I have ordered, was delicious. At the same time, it was prepared in a timely manner. Furthermore, they have a good selection of beers and wines. The prices, though, were on the expensive side. Still, I did not regret spending my cash. Since, the meal was delicious, and they had a good selection of beers.

Over five years ago I visited this restaurant and found the food mediocre and the service abysmal, so I did not return for years. Some friends recently asked to meet at the Back Abbey for dinner, so I decided to give it another try. During our dinner every one of my friends received their food and was done with their meal and they had not brought my meal. When I inquired about it to Jakob, our waiter, neither the waiter or anyone else provided an explanation nor an apology. By then our group was leaving so I cancelled the order. I will never visit this place again and would encourage others to think twice about eating at the Back Abbey, given how they treat people.

Fun little spot to visit outside of the core Claremont Village. As you'd expect, there is a great selection of Belgian beers, both on tap and in bottles. The food choices are pretty decent. We were pleased to find mussels. The sauce was delicious; it would have been great to have more bread to soak up the deliciousness. I'd add a star if they could provide better descriptions of the brews (the servers weren't too helpful and seemed overwhelmed) and carried some lower ABV choices. All said, we would go back to hang out in this back alley patio.

Disappointed on this visit on a Sunday. We had shown up and had sat down fast but as we got sat down more people sat down same time as us but me and my date didn't really get our order taken for about 30 minutes while the people around us got helped really fast. Usually the food is worth the wait but the fries were really over done, cold and nobody came to help on us or check on us during the whole meal, so I couldn't ask about them. Had the chicken schnitzel was good and spicy and my date had a cold broccoli soup pretty disappointed as this is my favorite Claremont place.Edit: they charged me somebody's else tab then my regular one so .. ya

If your into expensive alcohol this is your place food terrible service terrible seating terrible overall terrible

Really nice little spot in Claremont. As the name implies, it's in the back. I drove past it as it is tucked away a little. It's a little upscale pub. So everything is going to have a more fancy take. This includes the alcohol, dont expect to get Budweiser or Coors for you beer. Also dont expect your more brand name spirits here. That being said it is all very good. They have so have seasonal meals as well. So the menu will be a little different, which is a nice change of pace. They do have a lot of standard menu items they have year round. We split a BBQ Chicken sandwich with a salad. The sause had a little bite and the chicken was very juicy. They only had 2 desserts; beignets and the seasonal Cheese cake. We hot the beignets and they we very good. They come with some fresh fruit on the sides.Overall it was a really nice place and we will go back.

I have been at this restaurant once! It was in the beginning of December, 2021. The meal, that I have ordered was quite delicious. Furthermore, at the time, for a Friday evening, there was ample of space to sit down. They have, also, a good selection of beers. At the same time, they hired good bartenders. These bartenders are capable of making good cocktails. Of course, since the service is of top notch quality, the prices are on the expensive side. Nevertheless, I did not regret visiting this establishment. I will definitely visit this place again, when I have some disposable cash.

We were in town for a college visit and had an amazing dinner that met all our needs (keto friendly salad, something unique in the German flair, burger/fries). After one bite our whole party said “this is so good”.

Great selection of Belgian beers and the food is good the jagerschnitzel was huge and very tasty

Magnificent atmosphere, excellent food, great service and magnificent drinks.
