Got there around 8:30pm and felt completely rushed by Matt. He was very short with his responses and didn't seem to know anything about tastes on the menu. I wasn't completely satisfied with my meal itself but the worst part was he kept staring at our party, even after we paid! I understand it's later in the day but please don't rush us. It made me and my guest feel very uncomfortable. Usually we have a good experience but this was just awful.

One of the more popular spot for hotpot. The portions were small but the veggies categories were decent. They do have broth for vegetarians. Plenty of parking spaces. Kid friendly.

I have always loved this place! This post is about my recent visit.I was part of a group of 3 and we all ordered different things. I got the Taiwanese spicy with lamb T-Rex. The broth was really good if you are into spicy broth. I have tried spicy miso, seafood essence and Thai green curry the past which are equally good. The reasons I am giving a 4 stars and not 5 are following:They charge extra for the egg… Which end up being a $1.25 more. I understand that due to inflation you have to cut down and make money where you can. But this is a bit unreasonable.Other thing is that they really cut down on the amount of vegetables offered if you get T-Rex. I felt like they highly cut down on it. Last time I was there was last November and this wasn’t the case. However, I would still come back because the broths are really really good.

Third time going and its closed on Friday. Just forget about going for lunch. I dont enjoy driving an hour out of my way to find its closed. The added aggravation that a "We are open sign" sitting there only adds to the misery. They have it closed at random hours. Construction on Fullerton/Gale only adds to the problem. Construction blocks all of Fullerton/Gale for the foreseeable future to all traffic. When Jazzcat is open its my favorite shabu restaurant. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Delicious food. Plenty of sauces to pick from. Soup bases are solid. Meats are tender. Portions are good. Fried mushrooms are to die for.

We had the Japanese curry base with the TW BBQ dipping sauce and ordered the large tray of wagyu and it was very tasty. But, the vegetable tray did not look as good as it did in the photo however which was disappointing ours literally came with one half piece of a button mushroom that was soggy and bruised for two people. If we knew that we would have ordered more vegetables and less meat. Also the udon came in one frozen block and had to be cooked all at once which I would have preferred to be able to control better. But overall I would come here again and just order my own vegetables.

After hearing nothing but “great” things about this place, we decided to give it a shot. Honestly, this review goes more for the service of the restaurant. A server approached our table 3 times during our dinner. Bring us drinks and took our order, brought food, and brought the check. As for the food, this place is definitely overpriced for their portions. All additional items are $$$ as well as sauces. I miss the old shabu shabu places where simple things like sauces were free of charge. The food tasted subpar; the pork bone broth was flavorless and the Japanese sukiyaki was way too salty (had to add hot water and still couldn’t balance the saltiness).

I went there last night for dinner with my friends and afterwards I had a really bad stomach ache this morning and my stomach still hurts and I have been having runs going to the bath room after the Zumba class this morning you guys need to clean up the restaurant a little bit more cleaner and the food must be really dirty

Personally I don't like hotpot that much but sometimes it just hits the spot. I've been to most of the locations and all of them have the same delicious quality! For someone who grew up in the Midwest chilli is my go to for something warm in the colder months, but I've been getting into hotpot more over the years. If you've never had hotpot before or not much of a soup person then I would highly recommend getting the T Rex version so it's more meat. They have you pick a meat, a soup flavor and sauce which will set up your night. Play with the flavors because I've found some awesome combinations!

I love jazz cat... been coming for years. Just for the thai spicy hot pot soup with thai spicy sauce. Its the best soup. Always coming here . Even its hot outside. The service was always pleasant.

This place is worth the wait if you end up there on a day with a crowd.
