Good seafood place. Went for the first time and had good experiences.
This is definitely one of my favorite places to eat. The salmon & mahi mahi are both excellent. And the fish & chips are some of the best I've ever eaten. The breading is crispy & very tasty. And for the quality of the food, all of the prices are very reasonable. Plus they even serve plant based "fish".
Great fish place. It's best to eat in; what's great in the restaurant may become greasy, soft by the time you get home. Love the fish tacos, the regular fish and chips and any of the sides are worth trying. The salmon dishes are good, though not always available. I like the house brand fountain drinks. Kids like the various offerings, too.
Super glad to be able to give a good review as the restaurant industry in general has tanked to low standards.I appreciate the consistent quality of this place. Its good and always the same unlike so many places. Ive eaten here dozens of times and left my wallet once with alot of cash inside and one of the employees found it.I came to pick it up many hours later and all the money was still there. Great character goes ? a long way.
I like the food but this location, which I've visited twice for family meals, has not gotten my order completely correct either time. The first time they didn't give me sweet potato fries even though it's an extra charge. The second time, not only were they 30 minutes late from the scheduled pick up time, they forgot my side of kaleslaw, water and Pepsi. I think they just are not capable of handling larger orders on weekends. I hope they can get their act together because the food is just too good for me to stop going in protest of their not so great service.
CFG sets a high bar for these fast seafood-type establishments. In fact, there's nothing comparable in the area. There are many fresh fish choices (even wild-caught sockeye salmon) and many delicious sides options, whether brussels sprouts, sauteed asparagus, or sweet potato fries, etc. Most importantly for seafood, everything is perfectly cooked and sauced. The only slight drawback is that this is basically like a fast-food restaurant in terms of ambiance. But that's where the comparison ends; there's nothing of this quality at any fast-food establishment.

I arrived and paid for a phone order I placed. The only reason I go to this horrible customer service establishment is because of my parents. I dealt with a female Asian girl whom by the receipt I received is named Kenny. After I paid she stated my order was not ready. Another employee went up to my cashier I dealt with and showed her a bag ready for pick up and placed it on the counter. At first I thought it was my order but the cashier continue to take orders. After 10 minutes of waiting the cashier grabbed the bag and called my name. I was very upset and let her know that my order was sitting on the counter for over 10 minutes. I hope California Fish Grill reads this and corrects this bad service.
It’s the second time I go to this location after 7:00 pm and I got another order of HALF chicken breast. This isn’t acceptable.Also, my wife ordered sweet potato fries and her side order was vey small. If you can’t keep up with your orders, I think you would not meet the standards of the franchise.Probably would avoid this place for a while until they change this situation.
