Ratings and comments are deceiving. I didn't experience much authentic Mexican food at Felipes Mexican restaurant. Had the chicken mole, which was a red sauce over chicken, definitely not a mole sauce (dried chiles, peanuts, sesame seeds, chocolate, cinnamon and anis). Carnitas were dry and the chile relleno had no flavor. Guacamole and chip salsa were about the only things that tasted authentic.In my view Felipes isn't authentic Mexican food.
I love this place! my family has been coming to this place for 30+ years and we always get amazing service and the food is the best I've ever had in Sacramento. none can compare and their chili verde is, I'd say, the best I've had anywhere.

Got food poisoning from the famous chimichanga I was sick for over a week. I was a random walk in ,restaurant looks nice and clean. The food is typical Americanized Mexican food. They got brown people working but it’s not enough.
Excellent service, authentic, and great tasting food.I had the Vean and Cheese Burrito Ala Carter and my cousin had the Chimmy Chunga.Both excellent.Served with all you can eat chips abd salsa.
All I can say is yum yum. Got to give this place a try.
We Came From Out Of Town To This Resturant Based On Google Reviews. As Walking In Smelled Of Old Mildewy!! Waitress Seated Us, Took Our Drink Order And Didn't See Her Again, SMH! ..Salsa That Is Served With Chips Tastes Just Like Marinara Sauce, Not Salsa!!..Gross!.Chips Were Good, Pico Was OK. They Apparently Don't Have Street Tacos, Nor Can You Even Get A Taco With Steak.We Had A Party Of 3, Plus A Baby, Bil Was Over $90. Rediculous!! Food We Didn't E ven Eat Half Of Before Being Compleatly Grossed Out!!Bathrooms Stunk And Were Not Sanitized!! Reviews For This Place Are Def Decieving!!! Don't Waste Your Time..Gas Or Money!!??
Excellent food, excellent service (thanks Adelia)!!! Our first time here...we will definitely be back for some of the best Mexican food in Sacramento area!!! ( sorry the photo is blurry, had hard time uploading photos from phone to notebook)... Believe me, it's the most delightful, yummy food!! Laid back atmosphere too!!!
The food was good but our server seemed like we were an interruption. Asked if we wanted more chips and salsa and then never brought them. Seemed irritated which out weighed the good food. Shame too... my family and my kids family always loved going there... we are gonna pick a nicer atmosphere in a restaurant.... nice servers next time. Someone who appreciates our biz.
