I had a big craving for empanadas, like the ones my mom made back in Mexico. I went looking for the best empanada place and I found this place. The most delicious empanadas I’ve had! They have a large variety of flavors, they are not overly greasy, and the texture is perfect! The spot is cute and tidy and the owners are a very kind family. The costumer service is also amazing!

This is seriously a hidden gem! Let me tell you, I have visited several empanada shops/restaurants in the past and The Empanada Spot is the best! Their empanadas are soooo delicious. They are not greasy and have a perfect texture and flakiness. I have had dry empanadas at other places... you will not get that here! I ordered the pepperoni and cheese, chicharrón, rajas, and the shrimp empanada. The fillings where perfect, the cooks didn't skimp out on the meat/fillings. They all had a perfect balance of empanada crust and filling. Also, the salsas are bomb! Not super spicy, they give the empanadas a perfect kick and added flavor. The shop itself was cozy and clean. As far as price point, I would say each empanada is sold at a reasonable and common price. I haven't found a place that sells empanadas for less that $3, so the price is fair. The owner was also super nice, he told me the place is family owned and the recipes go way back to when his abuelita made them for him as a kid. So cool! I always love a good old family owned business. Highly recommend!

Excelente hidden gem, I ordered the chicken chipotle and my mom ordered pumpkin and apple flavored empanadas. The flavors were delicious a little pricey but it’s worth the price only complain is wish empanadas were bigger, other than the service was good and establishment was clean.

The Empanada Spot had delicious Empanadas!! The Empanadas are the perfect blend of ingredients! I recommend the Chicharrón, “OG”, Rajas, and Costilla de Puerco ? The owners and the staff are friendly and helpful! Come here if you are in Chula Vista!

Las weekend was our third visit to The Empanada Spot in the last few months. My wife and I tried the bean and cheese, chicharron, pepperoni and apple empanadas and can say that all were very tasty and crunchy just like we like our empanadas to be. We decided to eat outside and just waited for a short time for our friendly server to bring these out. All our empanadas were great but our favorites were pepperoni and beans/cheese. We will be back when in the area. Highly recommended.
What a great hidden gem! Empanadas were crispy and quite a few off the wall flavors to choose from. Definite shout out to the staff - they were super friendly, even offering bottled water casually while you're waiting for your food like you are at a good friend's house.
