Been a customer for about 15 years since they open up. Called for about 45 minutes to order food on Monday. Went online and website said open. After getting frustrated from no answer I drove to restaurant and it was closed. The next day I called and they were open so I ordered about $60 worth of food which is average. Spoke to petite Asian girl who was taking orders and told her about the situation. Very nicely I might add since I know most of the people who work there know me and my wife. She said they have been closed on Monday for about 2yrs and everyone knows that. I said very nice just so you know the web site said you were open and might want to pass that information on. She said I have nothing to do with that and walked away. Couldn’t believe my ears or eyes. This young lady has been working there about 2 yrs best of my knowledge maybe longer and she has never been very friendly but never had a problem with her. I’m sure the people who work there will know right away who this review is about. I will probably go backSince most the people there work hard and are very friendly.

The menu doesn’t match prices listed. Original using the listed menu my order was $45, called to place it and they said it was $75. Post the correct menu

AVOID, this was my favorite place for ages, I moved away and was in the area on Friday 2/11/2022. I ordered salt and pepper wings, and BBQ pork. The food was so dry it would not go down my throat, even the rice was dry.

Generous two stars. Relatively speaking I am sort of new, I've been going there about 15 years. I will not return.I always get the same thing, tray of Salted pepper wings. The wings use to be robust, virtually greaseless and a topic of conversation. My first red flag was that I received my order in just under five minutes; it turned out to be a tray of substandard wings soaked in grease; the accent of salted pepper wings was completely lost; the wings were however still a topic of conversation as nobody would eat them and made polite inquires as to where did I get them so they could identify where not to go. Otay Mandarin Chinese Restaurant is a sad imitation of its former image.

This place has been my #1 Chinese place for about 20 years and food has been decent compare to places in Chula Vista. I do have something to complain about though, and it's been their process of picking up food. They make everyone wait in line no matter if you called in ahead of time or you simply placing an order there at the restaurant. On New Years Eve i called at 11am for a $170 order to be picked up at 7pm. I got there at 7pm and there was a line of about 10 people which took "30 minutes" to get to the counter and pick up my food. Our food had been waiting on a table probably before 7pm. By the time we got home our food was barely warm. Picking up shouldn't take 30min. They really need to figure out there pick ups, maybe call the names out for the orders that are ready instead of making everyone wait in a long line It ain't fair to wait all that time while your food sits there getting cold. PLEASE FIX IT!! I don't want you guys to lose my business as you're one of our favorite places to eat Chinese food. Oh yeah, this has happened on regular days too, not just on holidays. Call out names of orders that are ready??. Also your phone line is always busy, hard to get a hold of you. Avg time for someone to answer is like 15min. Also, your prices went up which i understand w everything going on, but come on don't try to charge for chilli oil or wonton chips. They should be free as they were when your dining was open. Makes logic.

Great food and extremely nice people. Salt and pepper chicken wings are awesome!! My go to place always!!

I went yesterday, sorry, but the food doesn’t good!! The taste not good,

Avoid! Expensive and terrible quality food. You'll get it fast but it's almost inedible. The lemon chicken sauce is hardly a sauce. It's basically lemon flavored water.

I ordered fried rice & salt and pepper chicken. What I don't understand is how come these foods can be ready at 4 minutes after I ordered. I tried and noticed that fried rice is so dried. Taste like not cooked fully because rice was dried. Hopefully owner understand that fast service is not always satisfy customer. I want to eat decent Chinese food.

The past 6 times I called they never picked up the phone.
