The food is good, and we used to love this place but this time I almost puke, the “clean” table was sticky and greasy, the floor just disgusting, that I tried to take my 5yo daughter to the bad room, and it was so bad that she just couldn’t…I just feel I can’t go back again
We came on a Monday afternoon right around opening so it wasn't very busy. We had wonderful service, and the basic AYCE was great and had just enough variety to have a bunch of different options. Even the vegetarian in are party was satisfied. They also happened to be playing a lot of emo/pop punk music, which I greatly appreciated. I'll definitely come back here.
Kinda of pricey. We all got our fill. They will keep bringing out the meat in your 2 hour time limit. Every one has to order the same and you cook it. We choose the lesser priced package, it had enough meat to experience with. Also, it took a little while to get timing down on the grill but we did manage. We asked for forks, never got any. Be careful when walking around, floor is uneven and lifting up.
Courteous personnel/servers. Foods are sooo delicious. Will surely go back to this place.
Although the food was bomb, the service was atrocious. The staff was downright reluctant to bring you more food items. We asked three different waitstaff and still didn’t get what we asked for. The kimchi and traditional Korean beverage selection was abysmal and they don’t offer any food for takeout which is unfortunate because it leaves out many who can’t make it out for various reasons. The ownership was very unresponsive and unyielding in customers needs. Even though the food was delicious I will not return. I would think the owners would be honored and proud to share the Korean culinary delights with as many as possible and accommodate as many to have a successful business so I don’t foresee long term success for this new restaurant.
My wife & I celebrated Valentine's Day @ Hanu Korean Bbq. We are both in our 50's. The 'hipster' atmosphere took a little getting use to. I mentioned to my wife that they were definitely targetting a younger demographic with the music selection. Defintely not for minors under 15, in my humble opinion.The matre d, waitstaff and cooks were all friendly & helpful. I did not give them a perfect score, because their policy DOES NOT allow you to take home any leftovers. In fact they charge you an additional $10 for leaving too much food for them to clean up. I thought that was strange, but our waiter informes us that he wouldn't be charging us since it wss our first time.The menu offered two basic selections: $29.99 for the standard all-you-can-eat, as well as the $39.99 option for all-you-can-eat with more food options. We chose the pricier one with more options and enjoyed ourselves immensley.We do plan to come back, but we will jave to remember to bring a ferocious appetite.
The food was good. Overall experience was unpleasant because it was 40 degrees outside and they would not keep the door closed to the patio. Mind you there were no customers on patio. I left with frostbite legs.
The atmosphere and the service was spectacular! My parents love it! Especially my dad because his a very picky eater!! I was surprised when he eats korean cuisine! He likes it, wait erase that! He loves it now because of this place!!! We’ll surely come again!!Love the food!!
Some of these negative reviews are hilarious. I would like to see this person's review on some other KBBQ joints with all their "offensive" rap bangers. I thought the music was fine and some was what's popular on the radio. I've also been to all the KBBQs in San Diego and Manna is unarguably the worst. But I guess if you don't like authentic, desperately need to pay $10 less, or prefer lower quality food, Manna would be the way to go.That said, this place isn't perfect nor is it the best in San Diego. Food is good, infinitely better than Manna. Waiters are a bit slow and not as attentive as others, but it wasn't hard to flag them for help. I did have to wait 5 minutes to seat when there were a few open tables, but I don't think anyone could really get mad about 5 minutes.
I was impressed despite the bad reviews from other customers. I am satisfied with the service and the food. Shout out to all the crews of Hanu for working hard while providing good service!
