Delicious food, amazingly friendly service, and a time-travel back to the early 70’s…what’s not to love?

We read great reviews about Aunt Emma's Pancakes, and it appeared it was where the locals go. The service was horrendous. We were seated in direct sight of the kitchen where all the food was coming out. The two expediters appeared to be the only staff not properly wearing masks. They were down below their chins as they pulled food off the counter, buttered toast and carried it to tables. Food arrived cold and needed to be sent back (after a 30 minute wait).

They have been around since 1959, so that tells you a lot right of the bat. Yes, the food is pretty outstanding. And I’m referring to challenging them with a breakfast I’d have to be brave to try first time but did: CHILAQUILES DE MOLE. Mole at a Pancake restaurant? Yes and it was very good. My wife had the spinach and mushroom omelet which was also superb. We split a side of Churro pancakes, hoping they would be like a really great cinnamon pancake which we love, it was better! Moist with the evaporated milk that was the perfect amount (not too sweet). Wow. Service was also excellent, kitchen was fast brining our food. Not crowed on a Wed morning but YMMV; worth the wait if you must. The food really is pretty much all made from scratch (Mole, Pancake batter and the side of chopotle for the omelet (super yummy), great side potatoes and with my Mole dish, really good beans. Staff all wearing masks (thank you staff). This is a breakfast winner you shouldn’t miss.

OMG! We actually stumbled upon this place while traveling the day before we ate here. We had decided right then, that is where we were gonna have breakfast. Believe me, we were not disappointed. Being chefs and acquainted with food and restaurants for many years, I must say this has been one of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at. The staff, waiters, servers and customers were absolutely off the chain! We were seated immediately and was given time to decide what we wanted to
Fast service. Long time favorite place. My parents used to bring the family here every Sunday. Pancakes are always the favorite.
Had the Nutella pancakes and there were a bit too sweet. Long wait and really short-staffed; I will blame it on the pandemic. Tasted a couple of non-sweet dishes and I liked the flavors. Will come back under more normal circumstances.
