I would certainly say this is one of the best Lao-Thai food restaurant around here in South Bay. This hole on the wall and family owned restaurantboast an authentic and tasty food menu that would rival the best Laotian and Thai foods. We would definitely come back here again and we'll recommend this to our friends and family.
Ahan Lao is a fantastic restaurant. I have been twice in about six weeks because the food is delicious and well priced. My family’s favorites are the Thai papaya salad, the Lao beef jerky (which you have to try!) and the Nam Khao. The service is quick and friendly when dining in and ordering take out during the afternoon. Please give this place a try! You won’t regret it :)
This place is nice! I like the decorations. The food is pretty good too and yes, it’s a little hole in the wall but that’s okay :) the only thing I would say is that the servings were kinda small last time we ordered but still good!Also, last time I wrote a review, the owner got mad at me? I think he confused me with someone else so I just took it down, but it’s alright, :D the foods still good!
Great food, I always order a very specified dish and they always exceed my expectations. More than the food, customer service is A+! They always make me feel welcome and appreciated as a customer. There are many Thai restaurants but since they opened they're the only one I visit. Highly recommend!
Amazing food!! Extremely talented and friendly family-owned small business. They're also super quick on top of having the best Lao/Thai food in town. Literally only good things to say about these folks. They make you feel welcome every time and happy to support a small local business.
I’m visiting from out of town and wasn’t sure which Thai spot I should choose, but I’m incredibly happy with my decision.First off, I went to pick up my take out order and he said ‘I made a Thai tea for you :)’, and just handed me a tea on the house, which totally made my day!When I got home my food was still super hot. The panang curry is SO delicious!
Terrible customer service, very unprofessional. I tried to order the guy said I was banned without reason, I asked the reason he just kept ignoring me and walk away. I give no stars but I have to give at least one to be able to post. This person has a serious problem. Not sure if this person is the owner but he needs to be polite and learn how to treat customers.Danny P you are confusing me with someone else... the couples of times I dinne in i had no problem. Yesterday I tried to order and you said you can not give service because I was banned, i poletelly asked the reason and you just walked away. You could have give me a reason why instead of posting your answer here where everybody can see it... You just responded to my review today and explained here that I was banned because supposedly i was rude yelling at you and your staff, from not having brown rice.. well that's not true.... you're confusing me with other person.. I've dinne in before with no problem. Also you mentioned in this review that I'm banned because I didn't want to tip you.. Now you're saying that I didn't want to tip you the last time I wanted to dinne in... That's not true.. i wanted to dinne in, but then you said that now you're asking for tips which is fine, and i have the right to make my decision to take out, you dont know if I had enough money to tip you. If you are going to respond to people their poor reviews tell the truth and don't make up stories to look good. Don't worry about it i won't go back to your store to be treated unfair and no respect... There's plenty of Thai good restaurants i found one yesterday that has very good chicken curry with very good kind, respectful customer service. I wish you the best in your business. God bless you.
Place is a hidden gem!!It's clean, staff super friendly and great prices.Panang curry with beef ?Drunken noodles ?And the best presentation of sticky rice mango, ever.Portions are large and very well seasoned.Have definitely made a regular out of me and my little family ?
Wow, terrible customer service! Asked me to hold on twice and then after 15 minutes, just hung up. I tried calling back but no answer. Since I was close by and on my way I decided to walk in. Same guy yelled at me that he isn’t taking any more orders. When I explained politely, he kept cutting me off. He was one of the owners. When I asked why he didn’t tell me that on the phone, he told me to leave. Very rude, but worse! Just didn’t care and very disrespectful. Business is booming now, but I have also noticed a decrease in quality and quantity. It will catch up to them! Customers matter!
Wow, terrible customer service. The owner was so rude, my jaw dropped. I could tell that the employee in the front was embarrassed and apologized for the owner's attitude. I had called and was waiting on hold. The owner asked me twice to hold and then came back on the line after about 15 minutes and apologized for the long wait. He said he would be right with me. After another 5 minutes I was disconnected. I thought it was an accident, so I called back 3 times and it went to voicemail. I was on my way there, so by this time I was outside. I went into the restaurant and the owner yelled "we aren't taking anymore orders". It was nowhere near closing time. I explained that I had been waiting for 20 minutes on the line and was cut off. He yelled again "NO MORE ORDERS!". It was at that time I realized that he had just hung up the phone on me and didn't care that I had patiently waited as requested. I asked him why he hadn't just told me that over the phone. He said "YOU CAN LEAVE NOW!, NO MORE ORDERS!" I have never been treated like that at a restaurant before. He was mean and nasty. Bad customer service and a declining quality of food and smaller quantities will catch up with them. CUSTOMERS MATTER whether they think so or not.
