I really wanted to like this place more than I did. The food wasn't bad, but also was missing or lacking just something to make it great. The shrimp cocktail had lots of flavor and was definitely the highlight of the meal. The Chile Colorado was not the best I've tasted. There were definitely some issues with the steak, several bites were tough to chew and gristle-ish. The sauce was thick and starchy. I did enjoy the homemade tortillas.I'm not going to complain about the service, it is what it is these days. However I will say that if you want to try it, maybe takeout? It just was off (for me). They did have a bar with TVs and the dining room booths were private which was nice for a quiet dinner setting.
Wow. The food here is Great. Seasoned without too much salt. Very tasty. I have dined in and out. Whether eating in or out the service is the same "Impeccable" Kiki there is amazing, she gives a hand if you're not sure what you want or how you want prepared. I hate to tell you all about it, but, there are few places that provide it all. Service with a smile, Good Quality Food, Hot when you take it home. 20-30 min drive. Clean, Hospitality when you eat in. Did I tell you the food is so good. We won't talk about the Drinks and Bar Tenders...if their other spot is like this one! You're doing it right Los Portales, keep it up....I'm a woman of color, I've felt right at home ? glad to spend my funds. The food is great! ?, But I came here for breakfast and I'm not sure if there is a big turnover on waiters or waitress, but I don't think the service is good at all anymore. I always have wait too long to be seated and served to even get water! And it's practically empty. A staff brings chips and salsa and then say somebody else give you your drinks. Hmmm I'm eating salty chips I'm going to need water, that should be the first thing to bring! I don't like the service. But I love the food, so I keep going back. Maybe they need hire friendly waitresses. I see there are some guys that service chips and salsa, I think they should be waiters they are super nice!!!!!!!!Don't get me wrong it's not all waitresses! Just one! I feel customer service 101 needed. I think the staff doesn't look happy. If the first face I see doesn't say hello or greet me, and ignores me, not good customer service! Things changed drastically!But if you love good Mexican ? food, go here!!!!!!! It's yummy! ? Awesome food! My mom got the pozole with all the fixings, yummy! I got Chorizo dish, which is yummy, love it! I forgot to take a picture... ?
Love this place.. I have allergies to a lot of different foods and msgs and I believe it was the owner one time who went above and beyond to show me the ingredients that they use in the food I was ordering so that I would know there wasn't any ingredients that would trigger my allergies I was very thankful to her. Their customer service is always excellent too
Los Portales is a family owned restaurant that has locations in Chino and Montclair. The service is always friendly and superb, the food is made to order and delicious.Their menu offers a wide range of dishes from the Mexican cuisine and a small cantina in the back is very comfortable to have a drink while watching a game.
The kitchen was SLOW. We waited over 45 minutes for our food after ordering. When I left there were people who had been seated before me that were still waiting for there meals.
My gf says they could really improve their food and the bumper up the lunch special by $4. Veggies bland and taste frozen pacaged , don’t get the fish fillet.
The whole staff at this place is the best great food everything is awesome here and the drinks are top notch staff always seems super happy here ....this spot can be addicting in a good way enjoy your meal
The Los Portales in Chino is one of the best authentic Mexican Food restaurants that you grab yourself a delish Mexican Culture and flavor plate!! I recommend their Steak Fajitas or their shrimp cocktail!!!
Came here to have brunch & was good from the nice dinning & to the food was 8 out of 10. Thanks to Javi who was helpful & a good tip was given from my bill. The other stuff weren’t to accommodating which in customer service it’s ideal to check on your customers if anything is needed such as extra napkins or if everything was okay.. overall I enjoyed brunch here.
