I love love love this place!! It was my first time going and it was absolutely beautiful. It's a little kind of like a hole in the wall place but it's still very easy to find. Inside is so beautiful and so homey. You can study here and have food and hangout, it's the perfect spot for everything
Evaluated as different drink types + service and comfort of seating. This was a very hit/miss experience for us.1) Their milk based drinks such as lattes and cortados, iced or otherwise, were delicious. The hot drinks were very rich with caramel and dark fruit flavors. If we only had milk drinks, this would be higher stars.2) Straight shot espresso though, is overwhelmingly sour. No complexity, clarity, richness or nuance. They pull only double shots at >$3.00 US. For that price point, one should reasonably expect a rich and smooth shot, but it was very unpleasant to drink. This isn't the kind of bright fruit forward acidity you expect from a nice 3rd wave light roast. It was simply extremely astringent and sour. They might only be dialed in for milk drinks and maybe very few customers ordering straight shots. They also do not automatically provide sparkling water to accompany stronger espresso-based drinks, which normal coffee shops do at no extra cost. They only pellegrino bottles and charge you for it.3) Service was extremely slow. With ~4 people behind the counter, in the morning, it took them >15 minutes to serve a coffee. A breakfast sandwich took ~25 minutes to come out, together with several other sandwich orders from other customers. Breakfast sandwich is uncharacteristically pricey. A lox sandwich I had at Voltaire's in very expensive Silicone Valley was $8.95. The one here was $12.50 and tasted worse.4) The environment was dirty, for instance tabletops had stains, in the early morning. The servers were adequate, but were not very welcoming in general.Might return just for the milk drinks. As of now, 2 stars due to overpriced food, wait time, astringent/sour espresso and lack of cleanliness.
Seriously swapped over to this cafe, I love the vibe and the coffee is wonderful. Such an awesome staff and just a great place to enjoy your drink!
This place was recommended to us to go check out so we were pretty psyched to try it. It's in an unsuspecting business-y sort of plaza and the signage isn't great so if it's your first time there, it's a bit confusing to get to.We got there very shortly after they opened on a Saturday and we were the first and only customers at the time. The two employees there weren't very friendly, nobody greeted us or let us know that they would be with us shortly. We just kind of stood there for a while before we were finally acknowledged. The decor of the shop was awesome. There were plants everywhere, there was a really nice variety, and they were all for sale. Loved the ambiance. We ordered the vegan burrito, a lox bagel, a caramel iced latte, and a coffee, but they don't serve coffee (?) so they ended up getting us an americano instead. Our order took about 20 minutes, and they didn't give us our drinks ahead of time so again we were just kind of sitting there. The food was really good though! It was on the more expensive side for the amount of food we got, but it was very good. The Americano was good, and the caramel latte was alright. We probably won't go back. We thought it was overpriced for what it was, but we are glad we tried it nonetheless.
Food and everyone that works there is so kind. ????
Coffee here was amazing! I got a simple Iced latte with oat milk, and it was simply delicious!! The coffee flavor shines, you can tell that they use quality beans and train the staff to pull a proper espresso shot. Can't wait to come back.
I think the atmosphere of The Dirty Penguin is great. It was quiet, and there were plenty of tables at 11 on a weekday. The avocado toast was a little expensive considering it doesn’t come with a protein besides the egg. I think the lavender toast is a more economical option and I intend to try it on my next visit. Also, they sell houseplants!
My new favorite place to work and chill in the area! So many unique drink options (coffee and otherwise) as well as plants for sale and a spacious work space
You might not spot this place when you first drive-by. It's the side of the Dentist office. It's got a good vibe when you enter. Greeted by plants (for sale) and the drink and food menus. I opt for the penguin and brioche bacon. You can choose between whole milk, almond, or oat. My drink was so good, I ordered the penguin again to-go. Also, purchased a beautiful Chinese evergreen plant to add to my home collection. Definitely going to visit again!

Limited seats are available so you have to try your luck to get the seat Sea Salt Caramel latte is nice, you can change milk base to Almond milk paying extra $ 1 dollar I pretty enjoyed my salty caramel
