A friendly breakfast place with a great menu with traditional treats that are hard to find elsewhere like potato pancakes, or freshly made corned beef hash.
Huge portions, home made food, super friendly service
Less than one star. They got my order wrong twice and instead of fixing it they said there was nothing wrong. I'm vegetarian and there was meat in my dish both times and the eggs were completely overcooked the first time, and raw the second. I sat there for two hours unable to eat, and they insisted I pay for the wrong food. When I mentioned it to the manager, she told me I can find a new breakfast house. They also don't know how to properly poach eggs.
The roost has always been a Chico staple, but their recent relocation has solidified that. The new location is incredibly clean and comfortable. The service is still excellent as ever. There's even an explicitly vegan menu item now! There's still no liquor license, but they'll make you specialty coffee drinks all day.
No never they have turned into snobs and act like we owe them our business and hard earned money they don’t treat you like your valued as a guest I will spend my money else we’re no matter how good the food taste !
Excellent bacon waffles! Pecans were in the batter, too. Very crispy. Great service. And a nice window seat. Thank you Linda, and crew.???
My plate was made to perfection. I had the chicken fried steak with spinach and a biscuit. Not pictured is a cold glass of orange juice. Other people in my party had some issues with their orders not coming to the table correctly. Place looks new and is nice and clean. Staff was friendly.
I love this place! The new location is amazing. It's more spacious and the seating is nice with wood flooring. The food is excellent as always. I've had both the Irish Benedict with corned beef hash and it was perfectly poached with a ton of flavor. I've recently had the country scramble bowl. It's perfectly balanced with sausage gravy, veggies such as mushrooms, onions, and bell pepper, and home fries.
The new cafe is gorgeous, spacious and very comfortable. All home scratch cooking and real butter. Their eggs Benedict and biscuits and gravy are the best in town. Extensive menu, tons of choices, great prices, fantastic service
The food wasn't as good as it used to be, different gravy recipe maybe. Smaller portions compared to other diners in town, but more expensive. The biscuits in my biscuits and gravy were rock hard even though they were so busy you'd think they'd be pulling them out of the oven left and right. The hostess was very friendly. I'd been passed over a few times without having my drink order taken by waiters/waitresses. Finally someone came out of the kitchen and took my order, she was a new waitress, but she was attentive and did a good job. The staff was busy, but they were friendly. The food wasn't good enough to being me back though.
