Service was deficient and food was mediocre.The last couple of times we ate here the service and food have gone way down hill. Original server completely screwed up our order and the replacement server had no idea what was going on. I am sure that cut way back on the menu because all they have now is the basic rolls, nothing like they used to have. We’ll never go back there again.
Ever since Japanese Blossoms got a bunch of investors the management has gone downhill, sadly. On our last visit one of our party ordered the salmon and asparagus. The dish was a giant pile of plain white rice with a tiny piece of salmon and ONE asparagus spear. One is a garnish not a description of the dish. Management wouldn’t make it right. For $30 you can do better. High turnover and inexperienced servers also indicates they treat their people poorly. Goodbye Japanese Blossoms, we won’t be coming back.
Food was great and our waitress was fantastic and helpful. Unfortunately when we walked in the door we were greeted with two employees displaying attitude towards me and my wife for what seemed simply just walking into the restaurant. Now I don't know what kind of day they had but it was almost enough to call off our date night at Japanese blossom.Hostess after very visibly being annoyed that we walked in asked us what we wanted in a displeasing tone.I'm not expecting the red carpet and treated like royalty. I was just expecting at least friendliness and professionalism.Also seems the front entrance is also a employee break area which was a bit off putting. If it wasn't for the our waitress and her friendly and helpfulness demeanor would would have left before ordering.So overall food is fresh and tasty and came out quickly. Just don't expect to be treated like a customer at the door but more like a burden.
This last visit was the second time we were kept waiting (after order placed) for an extraordinary amount of time-after nearly 2 hours, we left. It’s not so bad when it’s just two people, which that time it was. Having eaten there in the past, we knew the food to be very good but the time management was awful. This recent visit - there were a lot of items not available, but plenty of good options. However, once again we were kept waiting a very long time only this time with young children and 7 very hungry adultsWhen after an hour and 20 minutes we started getting plates trickling out - one here, one five -ten minutes later, it was very frustrating. The plus of the food being good was not enough to balance the very long wait, the inconsistent service, lack of items and expense. Fortunately, the very well behaved children were as usual very happy to draw and wait, but the adults were getting pretty irritated with the situation! Not doing that again, there are other good places to eat, luckily. Really can’t recommend JB.
Best sushi in the north state. I have never been disappointed! Great food and great service!
Very good selection of tasty dishes. Getting orders may take some time when they are busy, so call far ahead. When they are busy, it can be difficult to find a parking spot. There is a limited amount of street parking.
I've been to many sushi restaurants in the Butte County area and Japanese Blossom rates a 5 star for me personally. The Sakura Sushi restaurant in Magalia has new owners and though the Sushi is still very good there are others such as Japanese Blossom in Chico that are a step above. This always been the best sushi restaurant in town. It still is. Freshest ingredients. Wonderful presentation. Friendly and helpful staff. You are sure to have a delicious meal here. Make a reservation as the wait can be long.
We had a great experience my granddaughter came to visit with my great granddaughter and was impressed with everything. My 5 year old great granddaughter said she have the restaurant , the food, and the waitress named Rebecca 5 stars with 2 thumbs up. And she insisted that we were coming back later. Thank you to everyone. If your reading this to see if you would like it yes it's good. Being 5 and they are usually picky eaters she ate almost everything on the plate and it was arranged to look very appetizing she loved it. ?
Disappointed today!! Japanese blossom has always been my favorite in town and I go pretty often. So when I ordered tonight I was very sad to have been delivered my food and discovered that the tempura frying ingredient you used to use has changed and I must say it is not for the better!! :( please go back to the old one!! This tempura is not even crunchy, has zero flavor, and just completely changes the food from how it used to taste and be. Hate to say it but I may not return often anymore if you don’t go back to your old ingredients.
