The only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars is because it cost a few dollars more to eat here. (Breakfast for example was $52 for 2 w/coffee) BUT! I feel it's worth it because not only is the service excellent every time I go, but the food here taste sooooooo delicious that it's so worth eating here and treating yourself weather its a godfather omelet (create your own, add the meatsauce to top it off yum!), a beef dip for lunch or lasagna for dinner, the food here is just so deliciously delicious!
I love the food and service everytime. But I took off a couple of stars because if you arrive before they start their lunch, you have to wait until 11. I don't eat breakfast foods, but love their tomato soup. My husband likes breakfast, so they brought him his meal first, then I had to wait 20 minutes to get soup and salad, because it was a lunch item. He finished eating his meal and had to wait for me to get mine. It seems that soup and salad shouldn't be an issue, since it is pre-made. This keeps Italian Cottage from being one of our regular weekly restaurants and we only do it if I am up to waiting...about once every 8-10 months.
I moved to Chico about 5 years ago. I loved coming here and the food was delicious. However, this restaurant has gone down hill fast. The prices are ridiculous, and the food isn’t even cooked properly. I had the chicken Parmesan, when I took a bite it was cold. I sent it back, and when I bit into it…it was rock hard and burned. Then I decided to just pay my bill and leave. The manager was told about the poorly cooked food to which she responded “oh you must tell us and we can fix it.” Right? I had already sent it back before. I won’t be going back and encourage you to spend your money elsewhere.
I do nor like the expensive prices and dinky portion sizes everytime I've ordered a meal here I'm shocked at the all amount of food. Bruschetta was 3 small pieces of bread. My meal barely filed me up Only gave 3 stars because of the nice server we had
Always enjoy atmosphere at the cottage, since the 70s, where I had my first green olive in my draft, and of course the best beef dip onion and pepper cheese, & if you like horseradish like I do, it's the best in the West by far!
Finally grew some courge to redeem my entrée gift after I recieved raw chicken on my pasta caboom today. It's been since August or 2021. I got sick from raw chicken I have photos but I'm not that person. They made it right with a gift cert. Well I haven't been able to want to go back but today I did and it was foul. I asked for NO onions! It was full of them. Thank God I ordered meatballs cause the dinner that is 16.95 was absolutely disgusting again thank God Nothing RAW again but it was so gross.
I haven't dined here at the Italian Cottage for quite a few years. There have been a few changes since then like no more sawdust on the floor and on the menu too, Like now the Cheese and grilled onions are a la carte. Also they used to have a sandwich called the Cottage Reben, that was my favorite. The sandwiches are still hot and tasty as I still remember, and the pastrami was tender with very little grissel.
I drove two hours to dine there. Wonderful service, good food, very reasonable prices and the service excellent. The roasted garlic appetizer is devine.
Honestly this place mid, the price is kinda whack, the flavour was hardly there well at least in my dish. Only reason I gave it a 2/5 was cause they on point with their refills. The servers were really friendly as well. but overall this restaurant isnt pushin ?️. Olive Garden>Italian Cottage ??
The staff and food were wonderful. Was a first visit so first impressions are big. The environment was very casual even though the meal wasn't!
