Ok, I know this is a chain restaurant, and yes...I'm even aware that it has multiple awards for "Best Burrito" and "Best Taco", but unfortunately I can't get behind it. My wife and I went in on Memorial Day for an early dinner, and left less-than satisfied. Not for the food or the taste, but for the Nickel and Dime way you get charged for EVERYTHING you may want in or on your food. The Burrito was full and big enough, as was the quesadilla, but while other establishments include the routine ingredients in their price or specialty items, Aca Taco charges for each add-on (as stated on the receipt). The salsas look like they come out of a jar/bottle/jug...and taste, well...bland. Was the Colorado Pork juicy and tender, with just the right spice kick? YEP!! Was the Beef tender as well...YES! But was the addition of $3 for ingredients that come standard in other businesses worth it. NO...I can not recommend this place when there are FAR BETTER restaurants in Chico to eat at, and vote for in the upcoming "Best of Chico" category (Lokking at YOU, Raliberto's). Want to really indulge...eat there and really enjoy).
Beware of low quality meat. I just ordered a chicken tostada and the chicken tasted like dog.
Very good burritos!! They dont add extra fillers when you request no rice! Most places add extra beans but not Aca Taco...and the meat is well seasoned. Very good!!
Aca Taco is a Chico favorite. The owner (Rafael) is a hardworking, friendly man who hires just as friendly and hardworking people. Wait times are minimal, the food is delicious, and my orders have always been made correctly. The prices are also very reasonable (roughly $8/burrito) for being fresh, homemade food. If you enjoy Mexican food (burritos, tacos, tortas, etc.) then go here!
I've been going to old aca taco shop over were cheese steak shop is and it always been good. There food always bring a smile to my face and it's sad that I can't eat there often anymore but I can say after not eating there for almost 3 years and trying there food again it still the same tasty food as I remember.

We love this place! So much better than the downtown location. Food is great, not super greasy and everything is very fairly priced.
Been eating here for over 20 years. I would recommend it to anyone asking for good mexican food. Its always first on the list.
