I was going to give this spot a 3 star but since their service was exceptional I gave them a 4 star. I recommend making a reservation on their site so you won't have to wait long. Waited like 10min tops which is not bad judging from the crowd outside. So the meats were good but some looked a little off and dry. The brisket was dry af. Not sure if you can get the best batch in the mornings but we went in the afternoon and some cuts seemed super dry. But everything else was good. Those cracked out deviled eggs were the best.
The food was great!! But unfortunately the service was absolutely horrible! My boyfriend and I went to have dinner, we had to ask for water, napkins, basically everything... we noticed all the other customers had the happy hour menu so we inquired about it, the young lady told us the give them to all customers.. but we hadn't received them, our waiter was also training someone at the time so we noticed the treatment of other customers from ourselves... and it was better service being given... so upon leaving we asked for to-go containers, the young lady gave us the smallest ones they had, so we asked for bigger, so the trainee said she needed to get permission to give us bigger ones, and the ones she'd given us were black.. we wondered what that was about, so we noticed other customers leaving and receiving nice clear to-go containers ? ..... it's sad that we had to go through this just to have dinner.. we will never eat there again!! I suggest no one of COLOR eat there as well...
The food at Lucille's has definitely slipped a bit over the years. I used to go once every couple weeks for the BBQ chicken sandwich. It's still good. But not nearly as good as it used to be. Maybe they just got too popular... At this point, expect a Sunday 4pm to-go order to take 2 hours to prepare and then expect some stuff to be missing from your to-go bag.
The Western burger was delicious. Crispy onions, well seasoned beef patty, just full of flavor. The biscuit with whipped cinnamon butter was also very delicious, warm with a light sprinkle of sugar. The 3 meat BBQ plate was okay, not sure if the food wasn't temperature hot when plated or if it was just too cold in the restaurant that it became just warm by the time we ate it. The plates used are metal, enamel plates that can get cold fast. Our coffee first came not that hot, because when the cream was added, it was no warm. The refill we were given coffee that was what coffee tastes like when left on the warmer too long, bitter. Warm bitter coffee. So we asked for new cups, still not hot enough, which leads me to believe the cups are cold when the hot coffee is being poured.
The wait wasn't that bad, plus it sad seeing it empty. But nothing beats the biscuit and apple butter. I tried the new spicy honey glazed salmon with rice and brussel sprouts with bacon. The spice creep up on you but it not hot. If not a fan of spice don't get it. Country fried chicken with mash potato and country gravy with street corn. Best in both world but the corn is extra if you don't want veggies. The host very sweet and made sure we are good and happy.
Ok now I'll say this the meats were good the sides were ok but that Gumbo... It tasted like watery dressing the sausage was like leather the shrimp like rubber an the chicken breast pieces were big an dry stuck to your teeth when you chewed it. Pieces of bay leaf all throughout the gumbo that you have to take them out your mouth just overwhelming... Bits of hard little pieces that you can't chew.. It was very very bad I hope they read this somebody owe me a refund!!????We stood an waited almost thirty minutes just to order takeout while workers just stood there..... I don't recommend the gumbo!!!!!!

Food wasn't great at all, they told us it was a limited menu then normal but it was my first time at a Lucille's so I expected better! Didn't see any steak on the menu, so I ordered chicken and beef brisket with fries as a BBQ combo. Food came out cold first asked for another meal this time it was just a little warm! Horrible then the hostess and our waitress acted very slow or off. Wouldn't recommend them!
Good drinks not-watered down. Bbq baby back ribs are always a favorite. Excellent wait service.
