Had a great breakfast today, beautiful view, friendly staff, ample seating outside on patio. Misters turned on for us. Had the breakfast special 2 eggs, well seasoned potatoes, crispy bacon and side of fluffy pancakes or toast for $9 during the week. Best hidden gem in Cathedral City
Has its charm with beautiful views of the golf course. An older crowd generally but the food is good and the drinks are reasonable.
As residents of Desert Princess, and restaurant operators (my family has operated restaurants and wedding venues for the past 30 years) we understand the quality of food and service, and we often try to support the Mountain View Grille bringing family and friends to eat here. Unfortunately, every time we do so we are very disappointed. This last time the Caesar salad did not taste like one since the dressing was not good and the advertised "prime rib" was not prime rib but different meat. And of course, the fries are - as always - frozen. The pitty is that this particular location is easy to get to, has ample of parking and great views but is not run and/or advertised well. The management should hire a professional wedding planner and be advertised as a wedding venue, it should improve the menu to a more modern one and it should change the ambiance of the place. The people that work there (some servers for 23 years) although nice, need to have better training in order to make diners feel welcomed. The bottom line is that the Mountain View Grille could use some very drastic improvements and some help from professionals in the hospitality industry.
Our food was very good. I had a salmon Caesar salad. The salmon was hot off the grill and cooked very nicely- not dry. Hubby had a Rueben sandwich which he said was very good - high praise from him. Our server, Jenny was knowledgeable and checked on our food for us. The only ding was that food was a little slow out of the kitchen but I’ll take that over overcooked.
Slow service on a slow morning. Hash browns tasted like bad oil and ketchup tasted off. I hardly ever not eat all of my food so this was a first.

It was a beautiful Mother’s Day brunch.. the sweet red roses ? given we’re an added thoughtful touch. Everything was amazing!
