Soooo good!! This was my first time in the marketplace, and Seven Hills Baking Co. definitely caught my eye first. The pastries all looked really fresh and tasty, but I ended up getting the Cinnamon Roll.Cinnamon Roll had a really nice cream cheese frosting, which wasn’t too sweet— it was a nice balance. Bread was really soft too ?✨
Located in a renovated shopping area which looks trendy and clean.Bought a plain, an almond and a ham/cheese croissants. They all taste great and cheaper than some bakeries in Mountain View/San Francisco. Highly recommended.
The bread and pastries here are the best. Always so fresh and delicious! The almond croissants can't be beat and the epi bread is so cute, looks great on a charcuterie board with dipping oil!

Seven Hills makes some of the better baked goods in the area. I have yet to consume any of their items that I did not like or love. Their cinnamon raisin bread (Sunday's only) is worth the drive anytime! Their coffee is really good, just wish they had a way to keep it warmer (hot).
The croissants were excellent, definitely would buy again without hesitation. The Challah bread was also one of the best I've had; it's not as sweet as a typical Challah but it comes down to personal preference.
Update-} New Years Eve 2021, I picked up my 4 replacement Croissants, which were perfection. I met the owner who explained what happened and he apologized for the previous mishap. Croissants. While there I was tempted by the Scones, Cinnamon Roll and their version of a Bear Claw. What a perfect way to celebrate New Years Day along with a Mimosa. Thank you for making The Market Place your Home. Yes, everything was yummy and my Family loved everything.
Best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had. It's a scientific mystery how they can be so crispy on the outside and so chewy in the middle. We come here all the time to get cookies to bring to our friends social gatherings... they are always a hit!

The 3 stars review is for the girls working the counter - no smiles, not friendly, very little help when I let them know I prefer the lightest roast coffee, they didn’t know and I got the feeling they didn’t really care. The pastries are delicious and I’m so happy the owner left “the other” bakery and opened his own in Castro Valley. Perhaps he can hire “public facing” counter help that like their jobs and enjoy working with the public. That would make shopping at his establishment more enjoyable and quite exceptional!
