I have been coming to this place for more than half my life. They are extremely consistent. They’re always busy and it is a good idea to order your food 30 minutes before you plan on picking it up. I definitely have some issues, like the fact that they charge you to use a card. Sometimes they give you a hard time about how many sauces you ask for. But again, they’re really consistent and their food quality is good and always taste the same. Do you know what to expect from them and you get good portion sizes. The lunch special is honestly enough for dinner portion if you make it that. This place is pretty cutthroat, order what you want, pick it up, eat it and do it again some other day. I come here for sure when I want fried fish
My first time here so far so good the sauce could be better taste like just mayonnaise not tarter sauce fish was fried perfect will go back
It is "take out" only. But staff is nice. Fish is very tasty and they will take your request for preparing it without any hesitation.
I TOTALLY agree with Jackie Nichols, black people have been supporting this fish market for Years, and they need way more black people working here(this place is an insult to black people).I believe original owners in the 70's sold this business to other people of their race who only want to make money$????.
First I'll start off by saying the food was garbage I ordered a red snapper combo which was shrimp oysters and red snapper the fish was definitely not red snapper mushy with streaks of brown inside of it is disappointing when you only have one job and you couldn't get that right how hard is it to put the right fish and it's too many people behind the counter too much idle conversation with nobody paying attention to detail that was the biggest waste of my $25-plus dollars. My guess whatever I was given was either catfish or Buffalo neither of which I eat the second order what's the same thing the sides were correct but the fish was wrong
We arrived just before closing and they still took my order and killed it. I came from Orange County and was not disappointed. We use to frequent this establishment back in the 90's and the quality and service are the same. Still the place we will go when we want fish.
I wanted and asked for the swai bone in tails but was given the filets (language barrier/ mask barrier, not sure what happened), asked to be upgraded/supersize my sides and pay extra but that didn't happen either. The oysters were fried so hard they scratched the roof of my mouth. And please, hold the raisins in the Cole slaw! Maybe it's a California thing, I'm from the South! Good potato salad though ?
Fresh, crispy and delicious. They are always crowded because they never disappoint. Takes 20-30min but definitely worth the wait. I usually call my order in ahead of time. My favorite is the dinner combo with filet sole. It comes hush puppies, shrimp, oysters and 2 sides. I get double fries.
Best fish ? market! Got 1lb of red snapper & 10 shrimps ? macaroni salad & fries ?. Fire ?
Good quality food at reasonable prices. The talipia was excellent
