We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast at the Tuck Box on two different mornings during our stay in Carmel. The food was delicious. Their famous scones are wonderful and the olallieberry spread is a perfect topping. The service was very friendly and fast. An eclectic variety of teapots are really fun to use when tea is brought to the table.
Adorable surroundings! Staff was lovely, enjoyed looking around the tiny house! So much history! The tea & lemonade was wonderful, we also enjoyed the BLT & tuna sandwich. Nice quiet atmosphere in the afternoon, we also sat outside in the garden.
Came here for the first time due to the cute vibe of the restaurant. Looks magical and super cute for social media photos. We went around 12pm. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. Staff was fairly friendly and the restaurant was clean. It was warm inside the restaurant. Not sure if there is an AC and we did not see any fans.We ordered their waffles which were yummy. Also tried the portabello mushroom sandwich was also tasty. Their potatoes were nicely seasoned and delicious. The family loved their scones. A nice quaint restaurant and the tuck box is considered one of the fairy tale cottages of Monterey. I do recommend checking it out.

Building is a whimisical 1920's structure, uniquely shaped front door. Dining inside or out. Tables for 2 or 4. Cute teapots with flowers for centerpieces. GREAT choice of music! My friend and I have visited many "tea houses" where we were served tiny sandwiches, unique teas and a very different type of scone. There were no little sandwiches - choices were egg dishes or salads, which we could have ordered at any standard restaurant. Tea bags were on a tray from which you made your selection, waitress brought the tea bag and pot of hot water for you to make your own. The scones were quite different, unlike "usual" tea house sweet scones; nor like biscuits; but a very dry cornbread like substance we didn't care for. However, the ollaberries to put on top were extremely delicious (1 of 3 toppings) Cash only. There was a rarebit on the menu; I was given a sample of the sauce before making my decision.
my grandmother has been taking me to the tuck box since i was 3 years old for tea on my birthday. i live in arizona now, but I fly back every year for my birthday tea. the tuck box has the BEST food, best service, sweet environment, and the most incredible scones you'll ever have. i get the chef's salad every single time with their house blend hot tea. you are missing out on this carmel treasure if you've not been to the tuck box. they are cash only so don't forget to bring some!
Had an excellent overall experience! Staff is super friendly and accommodating; I disagree with what people said about the scones, I thought they were buttery and delicious. I had the chicken salad which two others in my vicinity had and loved, but something tasted off for mine so would probably get something different. Tea setup was nice, see photo. Vibe was great, and the location itself is adorable. Look into the history of the architect.Cash only. Waitress let me pay through Zelle.
The Breakfast was great.The eggs Benedict one Latina super friendly. We sat at the patio little chilly but coffee was better that way . Only cash place that's rare right! I like Carmel overpriced cute little town with some really good small restaurants and coffee shops. I guess it balanced out
Terrible food, the soup was super salty!! Also I don’t know why they call this scones? It was dry and tasteless. We couldn’t finish any of it. Waited 15 mins, tiny place, total $30. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Excellent breakfast of two egg omelette with cheese and avocado. We all had scones that are not like bakery scones but really delicious. We loved the Olliberry jam and bought some to take home. Service was good. The decorations are fun and quaint.
