Wow! Love this place. We were there forthe first time tonight. Jane, the hostess, went out of her way to treat us specially and our waiter, Andres, was very friendly and attentive. The food and ambiance were amazing. We’ve already made reservations to come back with friends.
Cute place! Enjoyed our happy hour items. Oysters were delicious, but very small. The sliders tasted great! Filet mignon skewers pretty much melted in my mouth. Meat was so tender and juicy, but I didn't really care for the artichoke sauce it came with. I would definitely like to come back to try their dinner menu.
Went here on a whim. So glad I did! Sat at the bar. The bartender made me a wonderful nonalcoholic fruit drink and was very kind. Had the shrimp gnocchi and it was incredible, one of the best dishes I have ever eaten. The atmosphere and staff were great. I'll definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who asks for a good place to eat in Carmel. I will be back!
The most amazing pasta and gnocchi I’ve had, so flavorful. I am picky about gnocchi and this one melted in my mouth! The music is also perfect volume and fun.We had the best hostess and waiter, super attentive and friendly. We sat by the fire which was cozy.The wine and margarita was perfect as well. Perhaps the bread could be better but that did not concern us at all because everything else was spectacular!!!Seriously this place will not disappoint!
This restaurant is truly focused on giving a great food experience. We just felt a little uncomfortable as the waiters constantly tried to get us to drink, eat and spend more. It was too much. A server came so frequently we barely had time to talk among ourselves.They have a multi-layer serving approach, so by the time we had asked the bill 2 more waiters had come to give us the dessert menu (proves what I mentioned above of getting us to eat and drink more than we wanted).
Best food we ate in a long time. Each bite was like a little piece of heaven. I had a wonderful brussel sprout salad, seafood pasta with the most delicious sauce and a gf chocolate cake. My husband enjoyed burattini and truffle gnocchi. We were sitting outside. The overall atmosphere was quite enjoyable. Service was on point. They all worked as a team and everyone was helpful. Our server was so nice. We will be back!!!
We were so happy to have gotten a last minute reservation here! The food was phenomenal! We had an amazing waiter Sunny who was so attentive to us and provided excellent service. Thank you so much for making our Valentine’s Day special! We will be returning again!
The Pocket is the best addition to Carmel by the Sea. The perfect date night spot, brunch with the family, or dinner with friends. Wow. The Pocket takes and honors reservations, which is so helpful and appreciated. On a Wednesday night, we started with the Burratina. Wow, the burrata and salame was delicious. We went on to eat oysters, citrus salad, bucatini carbonara, gnocchi gamberetti, and braised short rib. Truly, each dish was better than the next. The truffle gnocchi was heavenly and the short rib and bucatini was rich but so delicious, the perfect sized portions. We received fantastic, kind service and ended the night with dessert and a birthday serenade. The ambiance of The Pocket is upbeat, classy yet hip and modern. What a place!
Hands down BEST pasta I've ever had.The atmosphere was great, and the food was superb. We were very glad we made the drive down from our hotel in Carmel Valley to eat dinner here.
Their online menu was not current when I arrived. I was really looking forward to the ossobuco. But no worries. I tried a mezcal cocktail & the fresh catch scallops later. The scallops were over salted and the aioli over powering. Good thing I had a lack luster mezcal cocktail to wash it down. When the bar tender brought in a snotty attitude I thru in the towel. I’ll give ‘em another shot in a few months, but definitely didn’t rise up to my expectations from the recommendations I got.
