Indoors. Great food, ambience & piano music. On top of that service was also exceptional abd we will be returning soon.

Very nice restaurant with an incredible view

Actually found this restaurant by pure luck and had to go when we found out it was owned Clint Eastwood (and also the menu & reviews looked very good). Upon arrival, we were met with an amazing atmosphere, piano player smashing out some great up-beat songs, everyone gathered round, singing along and generally having a really good time. The food was absolutely fantastic and was worth every penny. For a restaurant owned by an A-list celebrity, it was very reasonably priced and not as expensive as you would typically expect. Highly recommend either the Filet Mignon or Stuffed Berkshire Pork Tenderloin with Maple Syrup for main and the Warm Pecan Pie for dessert. BONUS, we were sat next to Mr Eastwood himself the whole time although without realising! The waitress pointed it out as we were leaving, much to our disbelief, but it was true! Very worth while trip and is a must have if staying in Monterey.

We arrived late, after 8, no reservation, a party of 7 that had left another restaurant because we couldn't uncork our own wines, and they took us in. The food was great, seafood is a specialty. You can get beef anywhere, but if you're in California, and can see the fishing boats off the coast, why not get seafood, and MIssion Ranch has fresh fish and calimari, and knows how to fix it. The salads were excellent, we've eaten here a number of times. Our waitress was Sarah, and she slowly and expertly uncorked three bottles of vintage wine that were over 25 years old, a professional waitress, we were lucky to get her. This restaurant is owned by Clint Eastwood, we've seen him here a few times; he may or may not know anything about restaurants, but whoever he has running this place sure knows what he's doing.

We stopped here only for a few cocktails late afternoon but the outdoor seating area was lovely - a real sun trap with a stunning outlook. The staff were very friendly and the service was great. We didn’t eat so can’t comment on the food but would recommend anyone to call in for a cocktail in a beautiful setting

4 of us dined here. We had an appetizer, 2 different salads and 4 different entrees for dinner. No one enjoyed their choices the word good did not surface in the conversation. On top of this the prices are $34-48 per entree. I have been here for breakfast also and felt the same; food is not good, but wanted to give the dinner menu a chance. The piano bar and view are part of the great atmosphere and would recommend just stopping by for a cocktail.

Great energetic friendly piano player de Nati on Mon -Thursday , some good singers also , Fernando bartender is great , thurs rocks .

We stopped in for cocktails around 4pm after driving the famous 17-mile drive. The bar is spacious, with expansive views of Carmel Bay from panoramic windows, as well as outdoor seating on the deck (pretty breezy the day we were there). A piano player was playing typical soft-jazz arrangements of light rock and pop standards in the background. The bartender served up perfectly made martinis and cosmopolitans, which were a bit pricey but a generous, old-school pour. We did not order food, but the bar appetizers smelled quite good. Overall we had been finding Carmel-By-The-Sea a bit pretentious, and were pleasantly surprised at the friendly, relaxed atmosphere at Mission Ranch, with several of the regulars engaging us in conversation.

Great restaurant. Not as expensive as expected.

The Mission Ranch was highly recommended by several people, and when we arrived we were told there was an almost 2 hour wait to sit outside, or we could be seated immediately indoors. The service was good and the views were nice. The food came and I cannot say that it was bad, but it wasn't mind blowing either. It was an average meal. I just think that my expectations were set high and the Mission Ranch did not deliver.
