Two things to order here always: Parisian gnocchi and Champignons pizza. Can’t go wrong with anything, actually. Chef Luna really knock’s it out of the park with the attention to detail on sauces and the artful presentation, especially on the seared salmon topped with mini mounds of caviar and the roasted asparagus with micro greens, crispy prosciutto bits and edible flowers! Brilliant!
One of the nicest pizzas in town. Ordered the cheese margarita. Their gnocchi is amazing as well!! Worth visiting. Would be trying their pasta next time, they say they make their own sauce and can customize it for you.
Excellent food Excellent service Lunch upon arrival to town— yay!!! Shared a Pizza and citrus beet salad . Fabulous crust, and with the addition of their calabrian chili oil, hit all the right notes. There’s a reasonable this is a favorite!
Rude staff member with terrible customer service skills. We walked in at 9.20 to see if we could grab some quick desserts, rather than being greeted the staff member just shouted from the back “we’re closed”. I approached to explain we were just looking for dessert and happy to eat in or take out, the waitress just turned her back and said “I said we’re closed”. I understand the restaurant stops taking tables at 9pm although surprised this restricts them serving two desserts, for eat in or take out, when there were 3 tables left in the restaurant that were still eating their main courses and would be offered the option of a dessert course. This quality of customer services probably goes some way to explaining why the restaurant was much quieter than most in the town
Luckily we had booked at this popular restaurant. The service was okay, we have certainly had more attentive staff, the food was tasty and nicely presented. The wine list is very impressive and there are some great wines there but the prices are pretty high. The down side of the meal was that although we had booked for six we were sat at a table that was hardly large enough for the food let alone any drinks!
I went with a friend to La Bicyclette and we ordered quite a view varied items - and all were good. First we split an appetizer of Brussels sprouts (which was not on the menu but a special of the day) and we also split the "Betterave Chicoree" salad which was very good: beets, red endive, hazelnuts, dried cherries and more. For my entree I ordered the New York steak special which was served on a wood plank. For dessert, I still had room for an Affogato. Juliet - our server - was very helpful and attentive.
The service given to us at the restaurant was really awful and disrespectful. The person taking our order just shoved the food on our table without caring to even place it carefully. They did not even ask us if we needed to order anything throughout the course of the meal. They did not even care to pick up the dirty dishes for a while. Towards the end, we asked them to give us the dessert menu, but the server simply went to a corner and started wiping glasses. After that we asked another server for the menu to order dessert. This kind of behavior from restaurant staff is really bad, I hope the management takes appropriate action to fix the service quality and server behavior.
Our seating was a bit crowded, but our table neighbors were nice and friendly. I wouldn't say the prices were outlandish, but for the money I expected more. Fortunately, any shortcoming in the food was made up for in service. Nice decor and ambience. Overall, I would say that the ranking on Tripadvisor is fair.
Solid European restaurant in the heart of Carmel-by-the-sea. Great service, cute decor and nice ambiance. We ordered the Linguine Pescatore and a Champignons pizza, and it was more than enough for the two of us.Pizza was nice but dang, the linguine was one of the best I've ever had! Super creamy and savory, and it's easy to over salt the dishes with seafood but they got the seasoning down to perfection. A bit pricier than the neighboring restaurants but I 100% recommend the place!
We stopped by Carmel by the sea and found this gem of a restaurant for lunch. Service is top notch. Our server, Laura was amazing. We had the mushroom appetizer and the linguine pescatore which my wife and I shared (we had a late breakfast that day). We capped it off with cappuccinos which was served with a nice biscotti. We were blessed with awesome weather that day and we sat outside. Highly highly recommend this restaurant which on my personal rating would be a 10/10 for our experience there :).
