We visit Carmel a few times a year and we always dine at Bistro Giovanni. My spouse always orders the cioppino because she loves the way it is prepared. Last night was a disappointment. The salmon was tasteless. The prawns and scallops were over cooked and the broth was boring. She sent the garlic bread back as there wasnât any texture nor flavor. The replacement of fresh Italian bread was fresh and delicious.However, The Caesar salad we shared as well as the dessert were excellent. The service was good and the attention showed by the distinguished older gentleman was much appreciated. Hoping our next time is as it used to be. Neil Kran

Delicious food, great atmosphere. Such a treat to have a wide choice of gluten free options for all 3 courses! Portions are generous but couldn't resist the gf chocolate torte. Visiting from UK with family, would recommend

The worst Italian food we ever had! Beef inside the cannelloni was partly still raw. Raviolis had no stuffing and were covered in a greasy sauce. Carbonara had hardly pieces of pancetta. Flatbread is done much better by my kids at home. Waiter must have realised the very poor quality of the dishes because bill was reduced automatically without us asking. Giovanniâs? Never again!!
