Food was good, loved their housemade salume (but make sure you let them know if there is any nut allergies as a few have nuts). Focaccia bread was tasty and the tagliatelle bolognese was one of the best we've had. One of the specials was Cacio de pepe risotto which was cooked perfectly and nicely seasoned. The only complaints we have was the service started off great (our poor server had to deal with a obnoxious party) but when the restaurant seated a large party (14 people) there was a huge gap in service of our meal and having a loud obnoxious guest along with the party of 14 in the back room with the brick ceilings, the noise level was almost excruciating and for some reason the room was very, very warm. As we left another patron was complaining about the exact same issues we had. We understand you don't know who will be dining (obnoxious party), but perhaps seat larger parties in the front room where sound won't be such an issue.

This was a disappointment from the bread ro the main course. Bread was chewed and cold, olives were flavorless and overseasoned, pizza was mushy and without character, and finale the salmon undercooked and with way too much olive oil as garnish?! No coming back, unfortunately we travel all the way from Southern California expecting something great and we end with bad food!

Cantinetta Luca is by far one of the best restaurants in Carmel. The food is superb. We had the spaghetti with pesto and the focaccia bread...delicious. The waiter was personable and efficient, friendly and not pretentious. The atmosphere is attractive and comfortable. We spent four nights in Carmel and tried a variety of restaurants for lunch and dinner. This meal was the best in every respect.

The food was delicious! And the B Steak A!!!!

The Salumi platter was off the charts! Pizza was excellent, especially the crust. Chicken very tasty and healthful. The huge slab of beef was melt in your mouth. Great deserts too! So I would say the meal and experience was a home run👍 Was not expecting it to be so good. Thank you, we shall return. A&L

1. Octopus was a little tough 2. Kansas City steak was average tenderness 3. The Pasta Bolognese was excellent

Worst pizza ever and I have eaten a lot of pizza .Crust very thin but very soggy sauce painted on almost no cheese Prpperoni very good. Terrible value for 27$ Eggplant so very good.

The food was very good, unfortunately the service was slow, from getting our first drink to waiting more than an hour after ordering for our entrees to arrive

Food was great! And good wine selection, the food is something that can remind you of Italy. Service can be improved. We have to wait for 15mins from our rservation time for our table.

Avoid this restaurant. The service is atrocious. We dined at this restaurant on Friday 7/22/2022. My mother and father ordered the bisteca-alla-fiorentia, to share. It took them a long time to bring our main courses. And the steak that they brought was filled with gristle, and neither my mother or father could even cut into their pieces. We told the host, and he told the chef, and then they came back to us and told us that they'd give us a discount on the steak, because the chef thought that only a small fraction of it was unsatisfactory. They gave us a $48 discount. It was a $160 steak. My mother and father basically skipped their main course because they couldn't even cut into their pieces of steak because they were so gristly. Unbelievable. People treat their dogs with more respect than this restaurant treats its customers. Please share this review with anyone you know in Carmel. It claims to be a high-end restaurant but in reality it has atrocious service and mediocre food.
