It's about 65 degrees and breezy in Carmel today. It's Monday and the crowd is light, no one else in line. The door to the café is open and it's cold inside too, yet I decide to stay, the Panini looks good. It was! The order taker at counter provided service that was perfunctory, yet the Square terminal she's spins around to me asks me to tip. The person who brought my food to my table 15 minutes later was more pleasant. I really wanted to stay for coffee and one of those delicious looking pastries but I needed to get outside to warm up.

Nice, clean shop. My mother got a BLT here and said it was some of the best she’s ever had. We both also enjoyed our pastries, although I wish they’d offered to heat them up for us, considering our meals were dine-in.The reason I removed two stars is because I ordered their house soup, which comes in one size and costs nearly $10. What I received was a bowl of clear, unseasoned broth with boiled chicken, onions, and cabbage. I truly paid $10 for the kind of food you would find at a local soup kitchen. This was war camp soup.TLDR: get a pastry, skip the soup.

Bit overpriced just because of the location, their primavera panini was greasy and loaded with olive oil with burnt edges and hard to chew bread, avocado toast was very basic. Coffees were good but $7-8 for a coffee is a too much. Neopolitan is supposed to have to crunchy layers, they were soggy and gooey. Overpriced for an average food.

Cafe Carmel is exceptional! Lovely pastries and desserts. Wonderful owner head pasrty chef (Sarah Cook) and lovely staff. Cafe Carmel is a wonderful supporter/partner of Peace of Mind Dog Rescue, a local senior dog rescue!

wonderful coffee, coffee cake and service

I have had some pastries from here before and they were pretty good. Today my wife and I got a cheesecake slice and carrots cake cupcake. They were terrible. Both were stale and tasted horrible. We ended up tossing both of them. Looking back we should have went back to ask for our money back.

This cozy and artistic coffee shop plus has always been my favorite, however today when I asked for an iced oatmilk latte and they made it hot the young woman at the register was less than hospitable and when she rolled her eyes I then said, simply pour it over ice and as she was aggressively articulating to the Barista (with an UGH just make it over!) $26.00 coffee tab for 3 and 1 pastry! Unacceptable!!!! Carmel Roasting CO. it is going forward!

With only a few hours to visit Carmel, needing a bit to eat and not wanting to wait 30 minutes or more for a restaurant, we stumbled upon the Cafe Carmel - and I'm glad we did. My wife loves beet salad and this was the best she's ever had. We also shared a panini which was excellent. For our dessert we each ordered a 16 oz (the only size) mango smoothie. We've been trying mango smoothies in California and this was the best one yet! Oh, and the staff were very cordial, helpful and interested in our visit to Carmel. I'd definitely return to this cafe.

Freshest berries i’ve ever tasted! The french toast was luxurious. I didn’t get the breakfast burrito, but the peeps i was with did; I warn you that you better be hungry because those burritos are gigantic

Nice spot to stop in this beautiful town,I wanted a capuchino for the cold afternoon and I was surprised by a very generous chocolate croissant. Didn’t try the smoothies or sandwiches but it’s cool to see the grow their micro greens there and you can see them being prepared fresh
