We've been going to Thai Pasta for the past 15 years (back when it was in Oceanside) and then when they relocated to Carlsbad. They've been very consistent with good food and prices up until when they changed owners circa 2021/22.Ever since they've changed ownership we noticed the following:1. price increased by 30-40% for the same dishes2. very, very poor customer service3. the food was not as good (tasty) as previous 15yrs4. no more dine in with plates and cutlery; instead you're eating out of paper plates in the restaurantSAVE YOUR MONEY.
Craving Chicken Panang for dinner so ordered here on my way home. She asked “Spicy level 1-5?” With such a narrow window, I told her “I love spicy, but not so hot that I can’t taste flavor…so maybe 4???” She said “How ‘bout 3?” ?. I took her advice and it was So perfect. Almost borderline too hot but so very tasty! Just what I’d hoped for. Always very kind service here.
Went on Friday evening dinner (as I was staying at Omni resort and needed a bit of change after eating at their places). Friendly staff, good service and I enjoyed the food too. I had Pa-nang curry with mixed sea food (mussels, shrimps, scallops- 3 pieces each) and brown rice. Singh’s beer went well with it ?. Curry was delicious and spicy on the just right level for me. I got mango sticky rice as a dessert - was good, but I had better before (well to be honest in was in Thailand). Place is clean, plays reproduced music (not too pound, nice background). For semi fast food (you order at the desk, they bring food to the table), it was above average food quality and right price. I enjoyed and I recommend the place.
Stumbled upon this place one morning when getting Starbucks. So when I wanted some take-out I decided to give it a go. Its the first time in a while I haven't been disappointed by take out. I got the Crispy Veggie Roll, Veggie Dumplings and Pad Thai. My only complaint is that I wish I got more sauce with my veggie rolls because it was so good!
I only had the pad Thai but it was really good. Definitelya better place for take out but they do have some seating. Overall was very good.
Great selection. Good flavor. Generous portions. Nice outdoor patio
PingPyong provided great service and the food was even better, the Pad Kee Mow, the Pad Prik King, and the Red Curry were absolutely the best in class for Thai food. Oceanside will get another visit just to go back there.
Absolute garbage since they changed the menu. I was going here for years, including the other locations they had and now they have taken off some of their best meals and are really left with not a lot of offerings. SUPER disapointed. The staff is different now and they don't act as professional or kind/welcoming as the original people. Will not be going back and don't recommend.
She is touching money & everything else in the place with bare hands. THEN picks up the salad with bare hands to put in your lunch container!
I have driven by here a thousand times, went in yesterday because my daughter saw it and wanted Thai, after trying and loving Thai at another local joint a few weeks ago. I had thought it was a chain, but it had a mom-n-pop vibe to it.The food was bland (not spicy bland, other flavors bland), the service slow, and the prices kind of steep. I know the pandemic has jacked everything up, but the size of the bill (and the size of the portions) didn't fit with the ambiance of duct-taped upholstery and truck-stop bathrooms. If we do order here again, I'm definitely calling in and doing take-out, but I'd probably drive the other direction to the other place for that.
