Japanese Hot Pot

Honestly, I really wanted to love this place! We don’t have many hotpot places in North County. We went on a Tuesday evening, google said it would probably not be busy. We ended up waiting an hour for our seat which is fine. Things happen hahah. I ordered a Tonkotsu broth, which I’ve had at many other places, and always love it. it just didn’t have enough flavor for me. When You cook your meat and veggies you take them out and let them cool on a bowl of rice. Unfortunately, it tasted like the meat and veggies were cooked in chicken broth out of a box at the grocery store. Super disappointed. It ended up being pretty expensive as well.If you’re willing to drive, just go to shabuworks in Mira Mesa.

It was our first time being here, what I really like is that the guy that attended to us was really patient and he explained well how the whole thing works, the only thing he forgot to ask is how we wanted the orders to be taken since we were 1 big group but we needed 3 different checks other than that it was really good,I think we would come back another time. Also thank you miss Rachel for your patience too.

Had originally planned to dine at the restaurant next door but gave this a try, as i’m a big fan of Japanese cuisine but not much experience with hot pot. Our server was incredibly helpful, friendly, and encouraging to us rookies. As for the quality of food, it was exceptional. I went with the wagyu short rib mixed with sukiyaki broth and udon it was the best meal i’ve had in a long time. They source a good amount of their beef from Snake River Farms, which is as good as it gets in the states. Well worth the price and highly recommended. I will most certainly be back soon.

Very cool place. It's an interactive dinner which makes it fun! Our server (young lady about to visit home in MA, forgot her name) was excellent! Very patient and informative. You sit around a "bar top", no individual tables, and there is an induction burner at each seat.On the menu you get to choose from a handful of broths and a list of proteins; each meal also comes with a stack of veggies. Once your broth heats up, you get to cook you for yourself! Throw in some seasoning sauce, throw in some veggies, your meats and keep rotating a few items in and pulling the cooked ones out. This way everything is nice and hot when you eat and you have a steady supply. We will be back

First time trying the place. Food was terrific and the servers really helped walk us through the ordering/cooking process.

Love the place, The experience, The menu, The Staff. Everything! Definitely will come back!

Fantastic experience and delicious!! Waiter guided us beautifully with all of our safe, gluten free choices, and the food was seriously fantastic!! Great great food, really attentive service, and I will definitely go back with my family and friends and make it a regular stop!!

Honestly, great food. Overpriced in my opinion. If you don't care about the steep price tag, the food and preparation, atmosphere is all good.

Japanese source and meat with Chinese style vegetable and hot pot. Such a great idea for whatever weather, for any Asian food lover.

Bomb! First time ever having Shabu Shabu. It was delicious. We had young kids. Youngest being 4 and everyone enjoyed themselves. We all walked away full and warm. Will absolutely be back. Service was great as well.
